Violators could be charged with a Class 1 misdemeanor and face up to 6 months in jail. If electronic devices are used to stalk someone, the charges then become a Class 3 felony, with penalties ranging from a minimum sentence of two and a half years in jail for non-dangerous offenders with no prior record to 25 years.
Lots of people going to jail on these boards rofl

AZ needs to re-think priorities.
From murders to suicides, Arizona is consistently among the most deadly states in the nation for gun violence, federal records show.

Correct.
You are not FORCED to read it.
However people can become liable for civil litigation if posting RL information/pictures is used to for malicious intent and purpose to harass, bully or intimidate.
That is why people should really chill out and keep it to "game" related material.

I feel sorry for the youth of today, because they will grow up and have to live in the real world. Bullies rule the world, and it all started with skills they learned on the playground.

It is unlawful for any person, with intent to terrify, intimidate, threaten, harass, annoy or offend, to use ANY ELECTRONIC OR DIGITAL DEVICE and use any obscene, lewd or profane language or suggest any lewd or lascivious act, or threaten to inflict physical harm to the person or property of any person.
Im no lawyer except on the internet butt Benjamin H Franklin gave us the right to annoy (OWS) and offend (god hates fags at ur funeral)
The law is unenforceable and will just drive Arizona further toward bankruptcy. It'll also make administration of social sites such as this forum downright impossible. That state's legislature is even more clueless about social media than our national congress - and that bar's set pretty high.

Against this for the same reason I'm against anti-bullying laws.
Standing up for yourself is a necessary part of growing up and being an adult. You remove that and you remove you add yet another thing creating more and more child-adults.

I think most people realize that standing up for yourself is an important part of growing up
but its not like they are going to kick down everybodies door who makes a snarky comments on the web..
I think its more for the situations where people terrorize a person for years... so they or their family can have some form of legal recourse.
there are various degrees of crimes.. they just need a law in order to arrest somebody..
let me give you an example.. you could punch somebody in the face and not go to jail... if the cops are busy it isn't worth their time to deal with the situation
but if you beat the crap out of somebody and they end up in the hospital... the police would use that law to arrest you.
same kind of thinking with this law.. just trolling on the web isn't going to cause you legal trouble.. but say an orchestrated campaign against somebody.. like hacking accounts.. posting private information.. signing people up for goods and services, calling jobs, friends, acquaintances, basically stalking somebody probably should be against the law.
its pretty much the same thing as laws that have been in place for years on mail and phone.. just now applying to the internet communication.
put simply.. there are so many things against the law that its not worth the time to punish every single offense.. but for serious offenses.. having a law is a nice tool to have
