If you vote, please state why you chose your answer.

To start --

I like pie because it has texture to it, whereas cake just dissolves in your mouth rather than actually chewing it. The crust, chewy, the fillings, chewy. Nom nom nom.

Cake wins hands down, although there must be chocolate involved.. preferrably yellow cake w/ chocolate frosting.

I must say... there are a few cakes that I will enjoy. Such as German Chocolate Cake, and Angel Food cake... however, there are more pies that I would enjoy more than cakes.

Pie all the way. I like cake, but mostly just the icing. Pie has greatness throughout!

cake is usually dry and gives you cotton mouth.

I picked pie b/c for ever good cake there are 10 good pies, you can make all kinds of pie out of all kinds of things. Fruit, meat, veggies, cheeese, everything.

How could anyway possible choose cake?

You can literally live off of pies and get all of the nutrition that you need. savory pit for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a sweet pie for dessert.

Cake is often way too sweet.
(Cheesecake would be my exception to the rule though).

My favorite dessert is cheese cake in its many forms.

I voted for pie. Cheese cake isn't cake, it's just a pie in disguise.

also...

pizza = pie

hot pockets = pie

I can't remember a pie I've had that was prepared incorrectly, but I've had several cakes that were just too dry. So, I went with pie.

While I agree that in general their are fewer chances to screw up a pie and that as an aggregate they are better, I cannot deny the power of a really good cake. I'd marry Betty Crocker if she promised me perfect cake every day.

I'm voting pie, but I'm including the incorrectly named cheese cake as a pie as well. Seriously, wtf were people thinking naming cheese pie as cheese cake. The crust and texture is much more pie like and nothing cake like at all.

I was going to argue that pies were superior because you can have meat pies but not meat cakes but i decided to google first and discovered that there is infact a meat cake.

Cheese cake is an abomination since it dons the characteristics of both pie and cake.

And in response to the meat cake, is it delicious?
