I'm adding to the population and I am wondering if anyone would be so kind to help out a little gnome enchanter?If so, please send Temsik a tell, or port over to Steamfront Mountains to say hello!

Any caster gear would greatly be appreciated, especially any that may contain +mana, +int, +cha, or... anything really! I'm still adorning the much desired cloth, oiiii, I will trade bone chips though!

I hope to see you all soon, just need to level out of insta-death range, thehe.

Advising new players to stay away from guilds with histories of being illegitimate isn't trolling. It's being helpful.

I would be grateful for it were I in their shoes. I wouldn't want my ingame reputation ruined because no one warned me of it, whoever those guilds may be.

To give a little bit of a history... EQ was my first MMORPG, started on Povar as a Cleric (Rough Rider) then onto Cazic-Thule as an Enchanter (Tihnk). Played the high-end game for quite a awhile, but, I believe I quit after Luclin some time.

I've always loved original EQ, I've been keeping tabs on the Red99 server through the FOH forums. I finally took the plunge and downloaded the client so that could join in on the fun. My plan is to be here for quite awhile, kinda really diggin' the enchanter solo life... I... just... want... charm.

So, yea... if anyone wants to be friends or level together, give me a shout, as I am totally new - and knowing no one. Ahh, yes, hit level 8 this evening too, slowly getting there, just need a new level place!

Read the stickies in this section. Pay particular attention to the two guilds named for returning dragon loot. Join a different guild, or you will be labeled with them rightfully.

There are plenty of helpful legitimate players out there. Find them.

Ahh, yes, hit level 8 this evening too, slowly getting there, just need a new level place!

Stay in Steamfont. If you go up north past the Fay path, there is a quad of minotaurs that will take you up to your teens and drop decent loot for the level. The Axes they drop sell for like 3pp and you'll be able to buy your spells.

You might have to go further north near the kobold camp though and pick up the wandering mobs before you can take on the mino's. There are two easily pulled single kobolds there and plenty of higher level rats / pumas. Avoid the skeletons there, they hit much harder then you expect.

Welcome to Red99. The forums are a sorry mess, but in-game people are generally very helpful and kind except when they want to kill you. But this is a PvP server, so, please expect to die.

Mustard, I shall take you up on that offer... I am actually in need of purchasing pet spells in High Pass Keep. If you can believe it, it's rather difficult for me to get there by myself and back to Gfay as a level 8 enchanter, aieeee!

Clearly lowbie pvp on a troll shadowknight which is the cornerstone of any red server. That in itself is a sellable game regardless of any other content.

How you likin' the server, qqd? I like the idea of red99, but these boards make the place look like a fucking den of immature assholes that talk about harrison having no life over and over and over, even though he seems to give the best advice out of anyone. Speaking of no life...

Anyway, let me know what you think. Are there any decent, mature guilds that act as a team on this server? Might give it a shot if it's not just a giant fragfest.

That's great advice actually, and lesson definitely learned. I guess this means I open up the vengeance on everyone? Right? Avoid the community building, turn on being a fucktard who doesn't want to see others progress in their system, rather, push people away from the entire experience. Right?

As it stands, I've had a great experience thus far, as people are quite helpful (e.g., Mustard etc)... I like it here, I like the competition, however, with pvp always comes the douchebaggary, kinda goes hand-in-hand. I think you have to have live that edge of life and death... one of being 'solo' / unguilded and new... yet if you have friends you can just gangbang the hell outta those that fuck with you. I honestly would corpse camp and bind camp Mskitten if I get a chance...

In general, I keep to my own, level away, if someone bothers me, well it's the price they pay. We'll see how it goes when being an enchanter, I just can't wait for charm then we'll see what's what.

don't judge the server too harshly based on the forums. the forums are here for out of game entertainment, tons of trolls. in game, it's a different world. you don't see any of this repetitive spam or anything in there. people are a lot more friendly.
