There were no good games at the time to that I was interested in. This was the final option for a game to play while I waited for Tera, Diablo 3, and GW2.

Beside that, almost every important Part, especially Game-Mechanics, are miles away from classic. This Server can only be called (if you are a positive thinking human being) "Classic Mix with some Serverowner Spice."

Best is, that i realized, that most of the guys, who talking bout classic EQ PvP Server, have absolutely no clue what they are talking bout, because they didint play on Rallos Zek back in '99.

I would prefer, if most of you guys from Blue, New, or whereever u crawl out and started your first Toon on TZ, VZ, or Disney Land, years after the Hardcore PvP'ers of RZ already left and moved on to new Challenges, just stfu.

A few Words to the Staff in respect.

I would give the Community a chance and throw in at least OOC. Let us show you, the Staff, that we can handle things on our own and not abusing what you, the gods, gave us - amen. A lil bit more attention in many different ways would also be helpful.

They are doing better than anyone out there, period. What is classic that they are able, capable, and ALLOWED to make classic is made classic when they get to it. (Obvious exploits, etc. not kept or reverted intentionally when possible as well.)

The resist system for example, is not classic. We had a discussion about it ("crying"), and Null is going to tweak it. See how well that works?

Active OOC and auction is also classic, which is why people* make threads about adjusting the channels so that they actually get used.

They go from server to server as they die, cheating, griefing, and screaming for things like petulant children until the server folds. This is what they do.

They don't give a fuck about the server, the project's goals, the staff donating their time to provide the server FOR FREE, none of it. They want things their way. No rules, no repercussions for their actions, and you're going to hear them cry at the top of their lungs until they get it. I am absolutely certain that the staff is very well aware of Harrison's viewpoint on how red99 should be policed. I am sure that all of the staff, and the vast majority of players, are in agreement with his suggestion that people who cheat should be punished.

If it were as simple as that, I doubt many people would have much problem with him. Unfortunately, he is very concerned with labeling certain guilds and communities of players as entirely detrimental to the server, due to some members within those groups having broken the rules in the past(most of whom have already been punished for said actions).

I disagree strongly with Harrison's suggestion that all players from Nihilum, Holocaust, and VZTZ are cheating rejects. Despite the tensions between players of opposing guilds, the players currently on red99 are generally good people, helpful players, and would like to see the server succeed.

It's not a matter of asking Harrison to 'stop talking about it', in your words. It would be more akin to asking him to 'talk constructively about issues, and take ideas up with people who are in positions to make change.'

However, after reading his posts for several weeks and seeing much more negativity from him than anything positive(he does occasionally say constructive things, but the bad far outweighs the good), I decided to put him on ignore. Less patient people put him on ignore far earlier.

And of course, by antagonizing large sections of the server community, Harrison brought upon himself the kind of trolling which now clutters the forums, and which you rightfully point out.

As for your last point, the 'playing field' of the server is kept even to a reasonable degree thanks to the efforts of the P99 staff. It's not a perfect system, but it functions. (edit: although, there are certainly some things that could use some work.)

So now the server demise is because of "vztzers" I mean you sound pretty paranoid.

I played for 2 days, and quit because i did not have time to devote. I have kept up with the boards over the past 4 months since i stopped playing. The whole thing is going downhill because it is catered to a much too small niche group of players. I mean I am all about classic, but realistically things that open the sense of community like OOC should be put in. It would bring me back, along with an experience boost. It would bring a lot of players back, which is a good thing.

Hes a troll. I don't cheat or exploit, nor have I ever used 3rd party EQ apps, but he's called me a cheater. In fact, I've seen him try to lump basically the entire server into some sort of cheater faction whether or not they were a member of any particular guild during a time they exploited bugged content.

Its just moot. People exploited, it happened, its over. It holds no bearing whatsoever upon the server today. Daily he continues to try to run off potential players with his rants and misinformation, portraying small incidents in the past as being some overwhelming problem as if cheating is rampant. Its been handled and the GMs are doing a lot of work to continue providing a legit Everquest experience. He has serious issues and he is, for some unforeseen reason, completely obsessed with projecting rage and animosity from his personal life on r99, the forums and its playerbase.
