So how bad was my mistake?

I knew shamans had access to a neckpiece that snared, but didnt know that you had to be a specific deity to use it.... was waiting on 50 to start gearing up and now this.

So how good is that neck?

Does the snare last for long in pve and pvp?

If you're a troll you might as well have the necklace, it's the only reason to roll that race, really. Unless you're high level then it doesn't really matter, you'll rarely use the thing anyways. You have dozens of other more important things to cast.

Other than that, they are pretty boss when you don't have to cast 4 buffs on 16 people every hour.


Shamans on blue had a 34pt regen(Rage) which was absolutely sick until Kunark came out. Was an oversight that the spell had a regen, worked out great for those playing shaman.

When plane of fear was still fresh on p99, you could attack a mob with a non-magic weapon. This would, for some reason, put a negative value hit on the mob and ALWAYS award you the kill. I leveled a 15shm to 50 by KSing spectres/lguk.

Was mad sick as a shaman during early p99. I lvl'd that alt soo fast. I had 8 manastones, because the drop rate was soooooo much better than this red99 bullshit, and traded for a fungy/JBB in kunarx.

I had a lot of fun as a shaman on p99.

Troll with no snare neck = Cazic Thule deity. THAT means you get OTHER necks. Fear vs animals and undead; they are quite useful if not to the degree of Darkness.

the snare neklace sux here cuz of eqemu snare rates vs live, the necklace casts clinging darkness which is suppose to stop mobs in their tracks completely once they get low here, instead, since the run rate is higher here, the mobs continue to move, although slowly...it basically means that you can't use the necklace here like you could in live (shamans were able to use it to solo imps in solb with it, etc...here they would run and u would get adds with it, an example)....

also i thought shaman would be strong in pvp 1vs1 but they are not real good vs most classes cuz of the dots being easy to remove and our nuke being mana ineffecient and low on damage vs other classe's nukes; shaman are good in team pvp play, but in 1vs1 its hard to stand up and beat certain classes especially if they got their resists up; i highly recommend getting a gatorsmash and meleeing your opponents as much as possible (ive taken a cleric down to 45% at level 50 just meleeing before).
