thinking of comming to the server

I was told of the project from another form. Played EQ from 99 until 2009. Was talking with the wife and she suggested we start playing again. Additionally our 3 sons would play also. I played on prexus then sullon Zek then finally Zek. We are looking for a pvp server which this project has which is good. Few questions.

1. What expansion is unlocked on the pvp server? I looked but cant seem to find it. depending on what content is unlocked wll depend on the race we will be. (the boys want to be iskar but I told them we need a cleric)

2. What is the pvp rule set on the server?

3. Is joining a guild a mandatory thing? What I mean by that question is when I played on SZ you didn't have to be in a guild to exp and lvl but if you wanted to progress to the higher end you had to be in a guild. Same with Zek.

4. I understand you can only 2 box but I am going to assume that all of us playing in one house will be ok? Would I be able to 2 box even though everyone else is playing also???

5. We are in the central time zone, the kids can play more then me and the wife but we would probably average 3 to 4 hours a night.

Any suggestions would be welcome, probably wont begin playing until the weekend. I still need to find the right copy of EQ.

Its level based ffa pvp. It starts are +-4 lvls, then goes up to 6, then at 42 its 8 level range.

Theres usually a decent amount of people from 4pm to midnight eastern time if that gives you any idea.

Yes, don't even think about going afk while logged on this server. Many people have been banned for trying to pull a quick afk during downtime in groups. If you autofollow it is common courtesy to constantly type in some way to let at least one person know that your still at the keyboard (for logs). The most common method is to just constantly spam a stream of consciousness to the person your autofollowing. Don't be shy, spill your guts about everything you can think of so there is no accidental lapse of time that could be logged.

To get an IP excemption you have to create a post (each person trying to get an excemption) include your character names and account names on all accounts that play from your IP.

Make sure you log people out if they take 10 minute+ afks. Don't 2box yourself for a quick port or to buff yourself etc.

We do want new people here, but this boxing thing is taken seriously. Amelinda takes her free time to do these exemptions and in your case a large one. Don't play her for a fool or I will hate you down bro.

Hopefully this served as something that will keep you on the ball and responsible with your exemption.

Look, im going to be honest with you, this server is no place for a 10 year old, in my opinion. You will have asshats that will kill you, try to train you, and then camp your corpse while talking mad shit. Not everyone on the server does things like that, but you will encounter it eventually. Your kids have to be in a position to deal with or avoid griefers, and im not sure they will be able to if their by themselves with the current age.

Autofollow is fine. But boxing is not. The first boxer i busted on red had his wife's character on auto-follow while she got their kids ready for school. That would have been fine, but he was running around greater fay making sure to get orcs between his character and his wife's character, then he'd turn auto-attack on on her computer, then on his. He healed and nuked with his wife's toon. THIS is 2-boxing and it's not okay. I don't care that it was his wife's toon & her computer and if it was "Just for a minute" He controlled both characters for AT LEAST 30 minutes. (That's how long i watched before i revealed myself)

Hiya - welcome to the server! DEFINITELY don't let your kids on the forums. You may also want to turn the bad word filter ON on their machines. TRUST ME.

I hope you manage to meet someone who will make a chanter or a bard (Or maybe convince the pally to roll one hehe)

Don't worry that you may end up getting banned for going afk. make SURE your kids understand the rules as well as the adults. Doesn't matter if it's the 10 year old boxing. I'll still ban. Here are things people do that they think they won't get caught boxing for:

Logging in another char JUST for a port.
Logging in a cleric JUST for a rez
Logging in a healer JUST for a quick heal.
Logging a second character to trade items.
Logging a trade mule in EC to complete a trade while grouping on your main toon.

As long as everyone understands they can only control ONE character on our server at a time (and log him out before logging in another one) then everything should be good :)

i can vouch for this, i reported someone knowing they werent 2 boxing and they were immediately banned, it was amazing that dude must have been so pissed

Here is the thought kn the classes wife = druid = can solo most of the time when needed. Me = sk or ranger (probably sk) = can solo very well.

The boys = need groupable toons since they are going to be playing together 99.9% of the time which is why I explained to them pally cleric shammy each class can stand on its own in pvp plus that trio makes an excellent combonation. Now the only thing that concerns me is the afk issue and baning and the like since the boys dont share there laptops / or any other characters from councole games ect. So there will not even be close to any issues about them "boxing"

I think we will be fine. I know how to pvp and the kids know how to pvp very well. I dont think this server in terms of greifing can be different the sullon zek and our pvp records werent bad at all. What drove me to this option was the classic eq playability.

As for the group lacking cc and dps? shammie can cc and your assuming that we want to just roll through mobs and thats not the case. Good solid leveling and getting gear so we can pvp is the goal in classic eq how hard was it to kill a skilled cleric pally and shammie combo? Now add a sk or ranger and a druid. I think we will be fine.

first off , dont start on this server , heres why

1. you seem like a normal person , this server is not for you. The people here are not normal ( Consider yourself warned )
2. Exp sucks , it needed beta exp 1000x so people can accomplish something , they didnt put it in , server failed and only hardcore people who failed in live play here
3. Even if you did play your group is shit , no dps , full penalty and you will get farmed by 1 rogue named sandusky prob ( he will fuck yer shit up )

It's low pop classic pvp everquest. Think about what exactly that means/implies for a bit and you should be good expectation wise!

One of the boys loves being the healer. We use to play EQ then moved to SoD. But this pvp server is whats attracting us the most.
