So as someone who has just recently gotten around to starting out on the red server, I am curious if everyone is happy with the current population and feels that it can/will sustain itself?

I am playing a necro this round so I am not really having a hard time killing mobs to gain experience, but it's fucking desolate in terms of low level players. I have seen so far 1 person I could have grouped with reasonably.

This seems like it would be a massive deterrent for new players starting out, especially not playing solo friendly classes. If no new players, won't the server die off pretty quick? I'm assuming that eventually those on top will get bored with farming more ph4tz and move on.

You are 100% correct about everything. Sadly.

I see lots of random people around and I'm level 17. Serverwide OOC would help a lot with things like this and encourage new ppl starting out who don't know anyone.

Lot of new people since the exp bonus was put in - I run into lowbies everywhere heh, shit ran into two people doing bandits lvl 16 grpd a bit - met up with others at najena been all over.

I think it's getting more popular and seems very active atm.

I'm planning on doing some lowbie buff days once I get a few more levels on my druid to encourage new players to start up, not sure how much impact it will have though.

i'm level 19 and have had people to group with + tons of pvp every day. it gets a lot better once you leave the newbie zones.

it should also be noted that the half dozen retards whining about the server on the forums 24/7 don't even play here.

just play for a week or two and see if you like it.

No and no.

My install started giving errors and I'm just not motivated enough to reinstall. Hope it all works out, tho.

Peace, love, and chicken grease.

Welcome to red99! I just came back as well. The population really sucks I know. My class is so group oriented but i still find groups. Here is my suggesstion:

Dont /anon at low level... that is how I find group members

Find people in your level range and send them a tell... get on each others friend list

For the "twinks" take a break from PvP, if you find a lowbie... try grouping with them before you try to kill them. There is time for PvP later, right now, we need to encourage population growth...

Just my thoughts do with them as you please.... :)

With the new xp curve, you should be able to level pretty fast and find at least a few people to play w/.

How am I to blame? I give new players gifts of 100pp all the time to encourage them to stick around.

The reason the population is low has to do with no new players coming. A new player logs in, sees no one, and logs off.

I normally stay away from these posts. However, there a lot of lowbies now.

Saw 7 lowbies in Nek forest. I saw a group of gnomes in steamfont, I see crushbone groups all day.

Maybe they just come out of the woodwork for me because they know I'll give them a SOW but I see em everywhere. There are lowbies. Seek them out. Group with them. High level people WILL help you.

Server is becoming more populated, I have fun here and so do other people. Most importantly, don't listen to the forum trolls about the status of the server.

Not joining a guild with an infamous rep early on will go a long way in ensuring you don't get griefed (Slathar paying you a visit).

Says the guy trying to sell Zaharn's coronet for 1k, some of help PL and DS random newbies, give items of immense value away etc., just to help the pop, thx

^ says it all. It's not perfect, but it's still a lot of fun.

Just talk to people. 90% of high levels will kick you down some buffs or help out if they are in zone.

Check the guild forums, there are always new guilds starting and they are packed within days. Prophets posted yesterday about starting. Inimical, Tallon Zek, and Ancient Mariners are all lower level guilds I have seen lately.

Qeynos seems to be the best spot to find low level players, but you can always roll a couple toons and see who is around.

No dungeon finders in this one buds, you're going to have to actually talk to people.

To be honest, if you're a lowbie, just go /unanon and LFG if you're a class that needs a group to be effective (i.e. any melee). Or just go LFG and encourage others to do so.

I think the majority of people starting out now are just trying to get through the grind as fast as possible (I know that's the case with my <Tallon Zek> pals). Griefing/PvP should be minimal once you get a group.

Yeah, like when I taught a newbie how to play a mage and gave him a Runed Cowl for 200p. Just doing my part.
