View Full Version : The Hole - See invis mobs, before and after.

When The Hole was released here on this server I would exp there as my favorite spot, many blues at 57 and I can use Manastone so I dont have to port to random zones for C2.

I took a break for a couple months, waited for Red99, between that release date and up until a week ago when I came back, mobs were changed and I see no patch notes specifiying.

Day 1 of Hole no mobs saw invis until you got to the undead erudites. No elementals, rock golems or imps saw invis, im a druid, im a loot whore, i'd invis up and run to the nameds that were left up and find away to kill them.

Now every 1 out of 8ish elementals seem to see invis, same for the imps and rock golems, I dont even bother trying to solo here since at 57 there is 50/50 chance of a mob being blue or light blue, I use to invis and run into mobs that were blue then proceed to root/rot them and move on.



Anyone else agree on this? Since no patch notes im going to assume it was snuck in, just like the pets taking 75% of exp if you do not do 51% of the damage or more unless grouped.

Lets see what a simple search picks up...

I Had spent alot of time during Kunark on the live server farming The Hole. The Hole named on Prodject 1999 are much more common. I have been soloing the same camp I had done on live and pop a named roughly every 1.5 hours. When I had done this camp on live id get one named(sometimes none) per a 12-18 hour session. Also on live a rock golem see's invis making this zone much harder to maneuver into. I would appreciate changes being considered, Loam gear is about one week from being used as toliet paper, where on live it was prized and sought after due to the rarity of named spawns.
If I recall correctly, (and this is going back many many months) the mobs were itemized (they dropped the appropriate gear). However the mobs that should have seen through invis didn't.

I also heard that at least some of the mobs did not have any faction associated with them. In other words they did not agro when you went near them and didn't asist each other. not sure how much truth there was to this as I did not go there myself.

Sounds like mobs were supposed to see invis and you were enjoying the Hole loot pinata. Now that pinata is gone, classically(TM).

I think it was established pretty quickly that mobs should and would be seeing invis in the hole. I'm sorry you took a break instead of taking advantage of it further.

What is his question? Do we agree that it is more difficult because mobs see invis? Yes, we do. :confused:
