I snap quit on day 2 due to blatant and obvious SEQ use from a guild which has, apparently, since been banned.

Looking for honest opinions from active players: is the server mostly clean these days?

Thinking about coming back. Not going to bother if it's still a cheat-fest.

All dragons are being killed legit now, the cheating that has gone on is mostly pathing exploits - and doesn't happen on the only two mobs that matter anymore.

I haven't seen one case of speed hacks, as far as seeing people in a zone who knows I haven't noticed it's usually pretty easy to find people without it so I don't really consider it ever.

People with IP exemptions can /q and log back in instantly to boot their char aka the Emumu which is some blatant cheating that goes unpunished which is gay but whatever, seems pretty legit - although there's little content and poor resist coding atm.

Once they add planes and bump up MR a bit and hopefully add global OOC so people don't have to play in a barren wasteland it'll be bumpen again.

Holocaust caught cheating on nagafen, publicly. No one is banned.

Nihilum suspected of it, and hinted at by GMs and devs as doing so, most likely true too. No one is banned.

Lots of exploiting and general cheating going around.

Well thats not entirely true or fair.

Nihilum cheated also thats why their dragon loot is being taken away.

They do bust people using macro quest. They have a harder time busting people using "exploits" or their knowledge of messed up parts of the game.

at level 12 i see people using software almost everyday in places like crushbone , at 40+ i saw them using it constantly

mostly show eq but people do silly shit like bind behind zone walls ( Which apparently is ok lol? )

either way , expect to see the majority of people using various exploits , i myself am suspended for skilling 2hs on a merchant

but to the extent of my knowledge as harrison has said , none of the people who did naughty activities are permanently banned for anything

I think the cheating he is refering to is show eq and macroquest..neither of which have beena problem on the server if you ask me...unless things have changed in the last 2 months.

Bans should be for multiple offenders (HINT). I'd have no one to kill.

Single offense = suspension, in fairness, 2 weeks per exploited kill is acceptable. Yes I'm serious. Please no one quote fat-head who got griefed off the beta sub lvl 20 with 1000% xp (xp rate is fine noobs, stagnate/kill server for validation etc etc).

It isn't like they don't know what they're doing and deserve a second chance. They chose to cheat. They chose to ignore the golden rule of online gaming that has existed since its inception. They deserve the consequences.

The only people who don't agree are either cheating themselves or are condoning such behavior, period.

I don't see how using game mechanics like buggy pathing is breaking the cardinal rule of EQ. I didn't even complain when Nihilum was doing Naggy using it - IMO find the problem and fix it, and they would have to fight through us to get it. We beat them 2 weeks in a row for control of Sol B and received a two week suspension, while they raided uncontested.

Lot of people don't even care to log on after that - Rogean showed up for 2 minutes since the server started to hand out two week suspension and threaten permas.

Throwing out perma bans for using in-game mechanics, no hack programs etc is border line laughable, document it and fix it - done. Kiting a mob with snare is cheating zomg ban, mage petting mobs down is cheating, walling aoes is cheating it goes on and on - you'd be insane not to use advantages that the game allows.
