My MR was 143 for Naggy. In classic this would make you 95% or whatever the max was back in the day.

On this pro box, my naggy charge experience consisted of - 2 resist root nets, 1 landed. 10 people figure out where I am because I'm standing still and get on me. Another root lands 5 seconds later, 2/2 so far. 3 more resist root casts not nets while the 10 people nuked/meleed me down.

It was about 8 vs 40? I'm pretty sure me getting rooted wasn't the key factor, but Null catered this server to people who mass invite anyone who can root/snare and is a complete fucking retard... actually I don't know if retard covers how stupid Null is - maybe an inbred dog fucking redneck fat pimply faced mother fucker.

*OPINION* I remember in kunark and early velious before people got 200+ MR unbuffed you never really tried to root people because MOST of the time it wouldn't land, but if you had a large amount of roots it was not a 5% shot in the dark, you could get them rooted and it was a viable strategy.

*OPINION* Right now at about 160 MR unbuffed I can say that i resist about 80% of roots. That being said the resists come in waves, then you get rooted in the middle of nowhere. But that's the dice roll system.

Supporting claim: I never had a root or snare casted on me while I was geared by an intelligent player in Kunark. There was no hope of it ever landing. It was used widely on pets, but a resist magic on the pet would drastically change the ability for root to land.

Also, I agree with Nirgon. Root wasn't even memmed at one point for pvp because casting it was a complete waste of mana. That's what made monks/rog's so godly in pvp indoors. Here, killing a monk/rog indoors is hilarious.

It was memmed for pets. The epic mage pet being almost impossible to root by itself. I think this had to do with it's level. Too lazy to go digging through all the buffs it puts on itself, though I don't think any give MR... maybe they do... I just know what I know.

Resist rates for root/snare are kind of tricky because they don't last as long as they did on Live. There's a client-side restriction on CC effects lasting more than 6 ticks I believe, whereas on Live snare lasted several minutes. I think the same is true of root (that it could last longer), but couldn't it also break early? Anyways, in my opinion the best thing would be to fix the client-side bug and make those spells as easy to resist as they were in classic.

That's not true. The easier it is to snare/mez/root/whirl the easier it is for the 40-50 fishbait zerg to hit 1 button. Make it harder and things change.

Even without resists, you had a chance to resist movement impairing effects on live. Above 70mr, you wouldn't have to worry about root. If it ever did land, it wouldn't last long and you could just pumice it. At 100mr, i never got rooted, snared, stunned or mezzed in pvp during classic-velious era.
