For the purpose of splitting camps outdoors, harmony seems incredibly valuable. Conversely the enchanters agro reduction line (calm, soothe, etc.) seem to cause havok when resisted and doesn't seem to offer the same reduction in range as harmony.

I am curious where a bards agro reducing song fits in? From what I can tell its single target but how long does it last? is it resistable? does it offer the same reduction in agro range as harmony, or is it more similar to that of an enchanter? From my vague recolection of 10+ years ago weren't bards able to split 3+ and 4+ pulls quite easily?

I'm actually not sure how long the Bard lull lasts, most Bard songs last 2 ticks but I think the lull lasts longer. It reduces aggro by quite a bit, and Bards should be able to easily split 3+/4+ pulls.

harmony's value is in area effect. it's negative is in outdoors only

bard lull is supposed to last 5 ticks (30 seconds).

Harmony is also completely non-agro where as a lull resist can be very bad.

bard lull is supposed to last 5 ticks (30 seconds).

I've never actually timed it, but ballparked based on how many mobs I can safely lull without it fading but 30 seconds seems about right. I can safely lull a camp with 4 or 5 mobs in it and still be good to single pull. It's not really reliable enough to not have to relull every time you pull because the duration is pretty short.

Edit: As Rusl stated, resists on higher level (55+) mobs are much more frequent with lull/bard song.

Bard lull can last up to 5 ticks. It's important to remember it can wear off early without any message letting you know.

Equipping the lute is supposed to make the aggro/frenzy radius even less than that of harmony, as in you'd have to stand on top of the mob to aggro it, but I haven't extensively tested it on p99 since that aspect has been fixed (was bugged for a while in that it made the aggro radius greater with lute than without lute).

cheers

That might be because the Bard lull has a level cap of 55.

While Harmony has no such restriction :)

I've played around with lull song because I don't like getting casters in my trainkites. Without lute, it works well, but I still got the occasional add from mobs that were right next to each other. With lute, I could have eaten my lunch off the mobs face and it would have stared at me blankly, drooling slightly.
