Hey all, awesome server. Lmao listening to my kid in other room screaming while running from decaying skellies (hates running back to nek from 3rd gate on death).

I ended up making a troll shammy called Darr n ran to neriak at level 1 so I could level with his necro. No bind so I cant die heh.

I am a little confused about shamans though, casters have spell books but my shaman doesnt have one, or a spell bar, how do shamans mem, med and cast their spells? Or am I bugged.

I'm not sure which UI you're using, but if you have the small square "EQ" box showing, click that... go to Character, and click Spell Gems.

Brings up the little sidebar for spells, and has your spellbook icon at the bottom of it.

Hey yeah I did click spell gems and spell book in menu but didnt do anything. I have spell bar and book on necro though. I thought it might be cus I shamans were melee n used diff way of casting but im guessing from ur reply thats incorrect. I might try reinstall

/book is the command to open spell book

What about ALT+S, Ikono?
That's the default shortcut to open Spell Gems.

If that doesn't work, go to Options... then Keys... then Spell casting.
"Toggle spellgems window" is what you are looking for.

As a caster, let me HIGHLY recommend the VERT UI configured for P1999 that you can find in the Library here on the forums. It really will make your life easier.

important note: as a shaman, it will be hard for you to get all of your proper spells in Neriak, since it doesn't have Shaman guild.
This means for most of your spells and training you will have to go back to your home city

Troll Shaman is also a hard class to level with the massive xp penality. But the benefits are great as well.

Troll shaman is only 20%.. That really isn't that bad. Casters have a 10% penalty, what is another 10% for being awesome? I still prefer my Ogre Shaman that has a 15% penalty and I can out level most classes.

I'm not in a hurry to level, apparently there were around 10k items that were never discovered in EQ1 that might be discoverable and I want to figure out some of the secrets of particular rare spawns. Bit bummed out that dev dropped the AC SRo information, that was my all time favorite mystery :)
