Put enough on it that the person can't possibly carry it all. Then watch them face the issue of destroying some of it and being able to run to the bank or waiting too long and get ganked by another monster. All assuming that the monster would actually cough the plat up after you give it to them.

You should totally go around invis and put 100pp on all sorts of newbie trash mobs and watch the hysteria when the first player kills and loots a rat that drops 100pp.

I would say test it on a mob first but giving it 1pp, kill it and then see if you get your 1pp back when you loot it.

Been playing on the blue server for about 2 years. Recently. Left blue, sold my account (for PP) gave away my accumulated 120k and started on red. Regrets suck; I want to go back to blue. 60k would help ALOT with getting started back up.

Played on EQ live from shortly after Kunark up through PoP or so.

EQ was my first MMO, the first video game I spent more than 30 or 40 hours with, and I was a youngin. I liked trying to roleplay my characters, I thought enchanter pets were groupmates of the enchanter who the enchanter cast some kind of powerful invis spell on, I was thrilled when I finally finished the arduous grind to level 20 so that I could finally pick a surname (and then I made up a RP backstory for why I picked that surname), etc. It was a blast.


If you gave me 60kpp, I would form a guild with my new bard on the server and dedicate the guild to finding new players and helping them to have the kind of fun with p99 that I had with live back 10+ years ago.

I'd spend a few k to outfit various classes (cleric, sk, ench, my bard, and a couple dps) and then play those characters as needed with the guilds members to help as many people as possible get into groups, since they are the heart and soul of this game.

I'd help out the players in the guild with advice when they want it, from everything of the "best" way to play their class to fun leveling and gear-finding spots to what other players on p99 will expect of them.

I'd work on amassing a collection of cheap-but-effective gear for every class and lend/give the stuff to all these new players with the suggestion that when they find something better, they pass on that stuff to make another new player's day.


Yeah, if you give me 60,000pp I will enjoy some of it myself. But most of it will get spent in those ways, making newb's days and helping people have fun in a guild and in groups, and hopefully helping to boost the server's pop so that it becomes a cycle of more groups, more fun, more people.


That's my pitch for the 60k! :)

if you're going to give your plat away, what you need to do is roll a newb toon, spend about 1k gearing it (like completely spreading the 1k out)

Then, roll around getting in groups and find some poor newb, who is really a newb, and make his day. This is probably the only way to do it fairly where it ends up on someone deserving.

Otherwise, you're going to give ur plat to some troll who had the best sap story he could conjure up and then probably RMT it or add it to his casino in EC.

Hi, I'm a long time on and off EQ player. I hadn't played in years until I decided to give this server a try. Been on everyday since. I also got my buddy and his wife to join (waiting on an ip exception) and we're all looking foward to playing together again. As you know classic EQ can be difficult when you're first starting out. A little plat would go a long way to getting us up to speed. We aren't greedy, even 10 or 20k would do wonders gearing us up. I am brand new on the server. Just started a week ago. My Enchanter (Leiker) dies all the time because I am still wearing tattered cloth at level 15. It has been 10 years since I last played and damn it feels good to be back! Although its very difficult starting out untwinked. I actually wanted to start a rogue, but I figured it would be even more gear dependent and so I went with a caster. That being said, I am still having loads of fun...that is, when I can get a group. I can't really solo much because I die too quickly, which is a problem because I often play at off horus.

I could use a little monetary injection badly, not neccesarily all of it, but just a little bit :3 Getting out of that cloth armor would really be nice.

60kpp seems like an aweful lot for a fresh character like me but a smaller amount would be a great help getting started.

As many have said you never truely leave EQ and I can attest to that. I abandoned my original rogue/druid account back when EQ 2 came out only to realize what a flop EQ 2 was. Came back to EQ 1 on and off for the next few years then discovered the fippy darkpaw server. Started up there last year with some friends but quickly became frustrated with the MQ'ing and hordes of multi boxers camping pretty much everything worth camping.

And so I ended up here just recently. Wanted to start last november but I figured I'd give swtor a try before getting invested here. Tried swtor for about a month and its just not for me. After a couple weeks on this server it really feels like home. I am a grinder at heart and this server has the right amount of grind for me.

With 60kpp I'd likely buy some gear for my toon, all my awesome spells, a couple WR bags, and thoroughly enjoy my grind to 60 while being an asset to every group willing to take me along. Your pp investment would go a long way, and if you ever decide to come back - powerlevelling services on the house!

To be perfectly honest I've only made it to 17 on the server so far and haven't even gone to EC yet. I'm not sure what the economy is like on this server but 60kpp seems like a a small fortune. Even a fraction of that would sure get the ball rolling.
