It was 100% exploited I was on the raid and had no idea what was happening. I kept waiting for some sort of strategy or strat to be revealed for how our crap force was going to beat Nagafen, only to be told to just /pet attack. I was actually tempted to gate and leave the raid because I thought how could it be possible that this raid is going to beat Nagafen, I was like level 41~ I didn't want to lose exp wiping in what was clearly a waste of time. Then, lo and behold thirteen minutes later Nagafen loot was being passed out. Troriste then mentioned on Vent how we "tried to do it legit but it bugged out like last time so he'll just report it." I was tempted to ask why if he had done it this way before and it bugged that he thought it would be different this time, but I was new to the guild and was still kind of in shock of what had just happened. Also, I don't claim to be an expert in voice detection or what not but the way Troriste said he was "reporting the bug" over Vent sounded like someone who was trying to cover his tracks in case of a GM, he also typed it over guildchat one too many times, like that guy with the story when questioned by cops that's just a litttttle too good.

There has been many case of this kind of things happening and never did anyone petition to reset their mob. The current issues with dragons not aoeing sometimes in VP comes to mind -- you dont see people petitioning right away to get them to reset it, they just kill the loot pinata and move on.

Fact is that we dont bug out mobs on purpose, especially not after bug reporting issues with them.

I remember MANY MANY raid boss fights where they would bug out and being the "first guild" to kill/raid the encounters was not met with guild-disbandings or perma bans.

However if GMs specifically told us to NOT do xxxxx and we would have i am sure they would have banned us all. Which has not been the case with Nihilum but was the case with Holocaust.

It still happens TODAY on live. If you are the first guilds to do an encounter and it is buggy not working correctly you finish the fight get your loot and they end up patching it later.

There's no conspiracy theory. All I did was take the stories given by Nizzarr and others in this thread and try to show how they were contradictory to what was said in the other thread. You were acting like nothing exploitative or abnormal happened during the Naggy encounters. It was as if the only reason you guys were able to kill him with 17 appropriate-leveled players and no Bard resists was because you were timing your /pet back off and /pet attack commands really well. The fact is that clearly something wasn't working as intended, but you, Reiker and Troriste all neglected to mention this in the thread where you were trying to make Naggy even easier.

To say that it was reported when Naggy wasn't working properly looks absurd to me because when I read that thread, all I see is your guild trying to dance around what was actually wrong with the encounter.

hm..how could they be doing the same exploit but yet naggy is still doing melee damage? in holo's case, wasn't naggy not doing any damage to begin with, be it through aoes and/or melee? and if nihilum was exploiting, why wouldnt they go all the way and repeat what holo did (having a tiny group on naggy and the rest of the raid camping zone line so no one can ss the fight) if they knew they had gm favoritism/ no disciplinary actions being taken. the claims don't add up

There's no conspiracy theory. All I did was take the stories given by Nizzarr and others in this thread and try to show how they were contradictory to what was said in the other thread. You were acting like nothing exploitative or abnormal happened during the Naggy encounters. It was as if the only reason you guys were able to kill him with 17 appropriate-leveled players and no Bard resists was because you were timing your /pet back off and /pet attack commands really well. The fact is that clearly something wasn't working as intended, but you, Reiker and Troriste all neglected to mention this in the thread where you were trying to make Naggy even easier.

In this thread you were trying to make Naggy even easier. I was the first person to mention that there might be an exploit allowing you to kill Naggy with lower numbers than you should need (after it had already been killed twice). People like Jadian were denying that there was an exploit at all:

In the first thread, Nilbog even says that he wasn't aware of an exploit (suggesting that you certainly didn't report it right away), and even tested various pets/positions to see if he could get the AE to bug out. At no point did you chime in and say what was actually wrong with the encounter. To most people, it looks like you just wanted to exploit it even more.

How about you explain why no one manned up and admitted that an exploit was being used, even though in this thread everyone from Nihilum is saying that they knew of an exploit and reported it immediately? Or maybe you can explain how a Bard does over 3000 damage while using their resist song (the resist song, to be most reliable against Naggy's AE, must be played with a drum, something everyone knows). It's obvious the Bard was told not to play resists because the officers present knew the AE's were not going to be an issue. Do you expect me to believe that people just ran out of the AE and ran back in at perfectly well-timed intervals? Okay, if that's the case, then why wouldn't Naggy go after the last person to run out of the AE (the tank, I would imagine)? And if the tank didn't run out of the AE, how could they never get feared? In my experience you need around ~300 MR to have any hope of auto-resisting dragon roar at level 50 (and this is only for fights that last ~1 minute). And how could you possibly have enough healing to cover the amount of damage done in a 13 minute Naggy fight?

Not to mention the fact that Nilbog doesn't log in unless he absolutely has to. He is the project manager and his job is to make sure that the project goes on. He assigns work to people and it's all about the everquest to him. He really only cares that the players have a great time and experience classic everquest. My clock is wrong on my computer so can you match this up with what was going on in your logs with OOC/SHOUT and tell me roughly what time to look for - i'll pull it and show you i was right there. you can see in the first quote above that I was specifically watching for Naggy to AE. I keep a PC targetted and watch to see if anyone is feared or i turn my invulnerability off.

So I was there.
