Despite the text quest saying the player must give gold (30gp), from the very begining Rastaman :P accepts plats instead of gold (among other sources: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=305 (see oldest posts) and the wiki).
I tried to hand him pp and he just ate them although he accepted gold. According to Allakhaam, the reward is supposed to be a spell and some coins, only had the spell. This was at neutral faction with my druid Petitpas.

I think this might be an allakhazam mistake. I did this quest on live and got no coin whatsoever. Seems odd to turn in gold for a coin reward.

Looking up the quest elsewhere (http://www.tokyo2001.com/game/eq/quest/sro/sro01.html) doesn't indicate coin reward either.

Anyone know more about this or have more links?

To be honest, I only highlighted this from a purist perspective. If you look into the figures I mentioned, you realise that, if my information is correct, you get more than what you put in. If you factor in the fact that you could use any currency, that's a ridiculous way to make an unlimited amount of cash in a short time with no risk whatsoever. It makes no sense.
Bottom line: even if I'm correct, this should probably not be implemented to avoid screwing the server cash balance (aka Richgirl capitalising everyone else's money :)).
