This movie looks like it will be taking some great liberties, but I think it's necessary. If Elros is part of the cast there's going to be some ancient flashbacks, which is what I think the Gandalf and Galadriel scene is.

You really should re-read it, i have probably read it 10 times myself, its a great story.
