I posted a thread about resists, hoping to get some legitimate feedback. Holocaust trolls immediately jump in with "lol u gay" posts, and the thread is moved to R&F when the original content was not R&F worthy.

This means anyone can effectively troll any valid discussions to R&F. Why not start banning people posting R&F material in server chat instead of moving valid threads?

I wasn't there, but judging from logs you resisted quite a few tashed/buffless, didn't use a crim pot - and are just terrible.

The reason the thread degraded into that from my perspective is because 1) You have such a joke of a reputation on the server 2) Have a big mouth 3) Are terrible and let a bunch of easy to counter shit happen to you and cry for changes.

If you go back to your thread there is some actual facts someone else provided showing you how many times you resisted. Someone with 35 magic resist wouldn't resist that many times before enthrall landed.

Plus you said you were stunned until you died and that wasn't true either. The whole post was basically you bitching because people were able to kill you and you wanted your pve gear to bail you out - bitch posts get sent to rants and flames.

If you want a real post about resist issues you have to show some sort of proof instead of just saying make my gear better and wanting others to do the research for you.

I've noticed that my opponents with mr gear resist my spells a lot more. Against a blue con with hardly any mr gear, i can keep them rooted almost permanently. A blue con with mr gear and I often can't land a single root because they run away and after 3 or 4 resists they are long gone.

My suggestion to you:

Next time you post in the bug forum add the evidence with your original post.
If you are trolled in said post then report the offending posts and I will take care of it.

If however you create a bug post with zero actual evidence in the original post and then it turns out that half of what you claimed could be disproven with a simple text log then I will consider it a troll thread and move it to R&F where it belongs.

Also, as stated before: If you know of a valid thread for the bug you are reporting than add your comments to that thread first. If you want the thread cleaned up then report the posts that should be removed. If you want to be part of the community than do your part. If you don't then don't complain about the outcome.

I don't pick sides, I respond to all valid reports.

Despite half of you ignorant tools shitting up any thread that gets posted anywhere, he raised a question and asked for feedback. The majority of the feedback had to do with you killing him and nothing to do with the actual point raised.

Resists in PvE are barely acceptable. I know this because I'm the one who came up with the current formula. If PvP translates that same formula in any way, it will be equally atrocious. The formula used to be linear. This caused terrible scaling. As a temporary bandaid to make resists at least somewhat acceptable, I explained to the rest of the staff why it would need to be a cubic function, and not a linear one.

A linear function gives equal differences in resist rates every level. A cubic function has slight changes until you approach the same level, at which point the changes are more pronounced, and then changes slightly again on its way back out from the same levels. Then Kanras and I played around with the numbers in excel until we got outputs that were reasonable more often than not. But it's far from perfect. The end result is almost always being able to land spells on targets over a certain level lower than you (read, magic resist matters less than level), and almost never being able to land spells on targets significantly higher than you, approaching the actual hard level cap (six level limit = 1.25*level, with some exceptions made for lower levels).

The problem with the formula is that the drop is a bit steeper in certain places than it should be, making level too pronounced within close-ish ranges. But I'm a biochemist, not a mathematician. Until someone comes along with a better cubic function, the formula will be imperfect.

He is the level 50, and we are the lower levels landing spells on him. I completely agree tho that it is ridiculously hard to land spells on red cons and even harder to melee them, and vice versa with spells landing too much on lower lvls.
