Too late to start? [Archive]

I have a level 3 ROG and a lot of EQ experience. Due to RL obligations I didn't really have time for red99 till now.

As of now there is an EXTREMELY low amount of new players to group or interact with.

I don't want to play a solo caster class (no fun to me personally) so it looks like I may have to pass......

Anyone have any suggestions? Any low level guilds?

Why are there no new players when the server is only a month old.....

Even being in a guild can be tough trying to find groups as a rogue, you can make it - will just require thicker skin and some dedication. As my pal Keto has told me, just stick your dick in a group and let them drag you along.

Community seems better here then in-game.

Example (This is what happened when I first logged in)

You enter East Freeport -

(Me) "Anyone there?"

1 in zone
You enter West Freeport -

(Me) "Any low levels around?"

(Random Troll) "Are you gay?"

(Me) "Nice, empty zones followed by trolling"

(Same Random Troll) "You are a faggot"

3 in zone

So I rerolled in Qeynos.......

You enter South Qeynos -

1 in zone

You enter North Qeynos -

(Me) "Anyone around?"

2 in zone (Other person was in some guild called <Los Banditos> assuming not a newb and never responded while I grinded to 3)

You enter Qeynos Hills

(Me) "What's up?"

(Me) "Anyone home?"

(Me) "Le Sigh"

3 in zone (1 person was a high level camping a GBS and unresponsive, never found other person)

Issue is I have no "bros".

Not too many people are conditioned for EQ after playing WoW/Rift/TOR these days.......

"What no instant travel? Fuck that"

"Exp loss on death? Fuck that"

"No instant LFG que tool? Fuck that"

"No Instances? Fuck that"

Like seriously, MMO's these days are soooo bad that they have also ruined MMO players lol.

If out in qeynos area don't forget blackburrow and everforst. If you roll inki rouge there is decent groupage around guk usually. Though it has been slacking.

LOL @ anyone starting a non-solo class at this point. Server is a ghost town levels 1-15 and even if you can manage to find a group your body will be crushed by the herculean grind that is classic xp.

Shouldve started a month ago and exploited wands and mage swords like everyone else did before they got nerfed.

Find some newbs in your level range and make buddies with them - expand your friend list. Also the prime time seems to be from 6-11ishpm EST and numbers +1/3 on weekends. GL

I haven't seen a rogue on this server yet. I hope you stick it out and make it to level 35+, where the groups really start happening.

When you get up to level 10 and start doing bandits, look for druids around the Ogre camp. You might find a nice level 30 druid there who will give you some buffs.

If you are doing a duo you need to find a necro that wouldn't mind slowing/fearing with a rogue. Since pet ends up eating half the exp when necro solos anyways it really wouldn't be that bad of a duo.

There is always lowbies in the dark elf town area to group with around ec wc even guk area I just started and I seem to find plenty of people to kill all you have to do is look

Best zone in the game as far as I am concerned is Crushbone for noobs. Great plat to be made with Belts and Scalps and XP on turn ins, and lots of people in there and a XP bonus.

Can be tough with PKers but well worth it. Can get to level 14 pretty quick.
