What I find interesting about this post, is the fact that lovely and his group of friends used this to lvl up. Now that they no longer need exp they want it out of the game. ofcourse anything that helped them get the lvl's done faster than anyone else they want to be the only people to do it easy style. Then they want to get the gear that they exploited a bug in the code/game to get and now that will be going out also, so now they can sit at 50 and attack lvl 42's, they have gear 2 spell ranks on you .. classic - what makes me laugh the most is the fact that inside their little heads they think they are good at pvp? im better than you becuase i have spells and gear you dont have. When what it really comes down to is you suck at the game you used exploits to lvl up to 50 and get gear, now after you used them all you want them out of the game, your trash along with your friends you will go down in history as the people that could not hash out the long hours of leveling that classic everquest really was - but its only ok for you to do it, everything lvl 50 should be deleted, if you looked back at the time line of lvling 1-50 in classic it took months people likes were wasted and lost due to this game at classic, thats why they made it a little easier for people. never the less your only good becuase you have the upper hand, its like fighting a boxing or mma fight with one arm behind your back .. this is lovely in real life - no way i wont fight you unless you tie your hand behind your back then i will fight you and act like im the best out there !! wheeee! .. your sad man.. its like the guy that pked the guy with mobs on him, IM BETTER THAN YOU !!!! .. dude get it in your head you can't lvl to 50 on this server without using bug's or exploits. You can't do it. You didnt do it. Your not 50 without using exploits or bugs. You suck at everquest. Your good becuase you push ice comet over and over why noone else has spells near your lvl range.. wow you have skills, i told my 5 year old what button to push and he killed someone in the game.. hes great at it, he is about as smart as you lovely.

So makes alot of sense why you would want it out of the game now.

I just can't stand it when they don't get shit right from the beginning how many years have they had to get this crap right before launching a server and then they just let it go on and on for weeks knowing full well that it's broken it's always the same story with emulated servers

if they fix this exp bug that lovely used and now that lovely is done using it wants to post it as a bug.. should be banned for that alone - abusing something in the game then when your done with it let them fix it, at this point i understand they are at a jam on this server if they de lvl or reset lovely and his crew of friends that did this, they would quit becuase we all know they can't level without it. takes to much of your life, you would have to sit infront of the computer for a month stright to get 50 specially in a group with the -20% xp loss let alone the fact that they would have to compete for spawn.. yeah they woudl not do it becuase they can't. Then if you take ice comet to vox quest and take out the proc rate of the weapons for mages then the lower end will not want to play becuase they will get farm'ed at 42 by lvl 50's that used this. dont see it fair - what do they do leave it all how it is and call it a day? yeah i think they should. maybe have a poll to wipe the server clean and start it over i think alot of people would vote for that, infact everyone except for lovely and lovely will make 5-10 fake names no the forums and post on his behalf, he wants this out of the game becuase mages will own his face in pvp with it plain and simple he will suck and cry and quit -

I understand your frustration, but bugs need to be fixed and not just left in the game because other people didn't report them sooner. I am willing to bet than many mages who played Beta knew about this and did not report it sooner. It is interesting that looking at Lovely's history for reporting bugs, all of them strengthen wizards or weaken other classes.

Not once was Harvest being in an xpac early or Ice Comet not requiring you to kill Vox reported.

Glad they removed this bug, but it is ironic that Lovely is the one who reported it.

GMs reward bug discovery by not punishing those that exploit them (too bad these people figured out all of these bugs in beta and then intentionally didn't report them until everyone they know had farmed them sufficiently, but then again no one else posted them until now either). Sure Mages, Necros, wizards, bards and Druids dont need guard assist they have enough tools early on to beat others or get away. Ive personally seen half a dozen ppl leave because they played Clerics, Warriors, Rogues,Paladins,
and didnt have the time " to regrind the lost xp cuz they got CC besides the guard". Now you see a swarm of clerics, chanters, warriors and paladins all twinked out cuz the upper guilds need those classes for PvE.

I stated in a previous post that most of you are trash and have actually nothing to do with classic EQ PvP. 12 years ago most of you didnt play or played on blue. There are very few here that played on PvP from the very start.

Then again i must agree with Turmoil. Those who stayed and got griefed outlvled should stay on the grind. EQ PvP has never been fair nor will it ever be but there is another truth. Every old PvP Server might it be RZ, VZ or TZ had a group of people that choosed to take the server hostile because they knew the bugs and exploit or simply had the time to rush thru lvls and farm loots. On VZ this band of people didnt lasted long after the server catched up and most of them re rolled after the first year cuz they couldnt go anywhere without beeing gangbanged. This will happend here too...but much much faster.

Yea, the problem was that beta averaged like 30-50 people online (some of that number was probably multi boxers too) so it was hard to really test a lot of things...I never even got PvP'd by guards the whole time I tested and I had a level 50, and two 17s I think. There was one time where Cwall attacked me in Grobb but he was levitating up on a cliff so I assumed that guards didn't see him attack me...other than that I had no clue of this, lol. Kinda funny when you think about it.

Being a caster that can solo with no competition would have been enough to be first, the red wood wands and other shit are pretty greasey but hardly deserving of a wipe. Even with sword proccing pets you have to dedicate a fair amount of time to hit 50.

This is what really happened during Beta (this is quote from me during Beta):

I quit beta testing for now myself...got a shaman to 50 - way too many bugs IMO. Resists are so retarded it's pointless to even PVP now. I couldn't even land a poison dot on a PC who had just 54 PR (we were purposely testing resists out). No I didn't just cast it once and it got resisted...

Basically the resists were so screwed it caused the majority of the population to quit...at this point only an average of 30 people were online at any given time. You can say that we blew our chance but can you blame us?

I personally do NOT want a wipe and think it would be stupid to do a wipe (at this point). Instead, I would suggest having some kind of experience bonus week (notice I said week, not weekend) to make up for some of the sploiters on the server. This way it would benefit more of the server, by doing a whole week and not just a weekend (some people probably have to work the weekends).

The staff does punish exploits. I successfully reported someone abusing an exploit just the other day. They just don't publicly announce when an exploiter is punished. Also, a lot of the things people call "exploits", are really not exploits at all since they were doable in classic (still it's good that the staff nerfed them, like in the case of red wands). I'd be very surprised if they don't do something about the way Naggy was killed, since that was very clearly exploitative. Maybe they won't ban anyone but I should hope they at least take away the loot (no offense to the guys in Nihilum who I otherwise have no issues with (especially Lovely who I find hilarious) - but we all know the kill was illegitimate).

I'm not sure this excuses the action of someone who abuses the exploit. Not to mention some of the "exploits" people have mentioned were repeatedly reported in BETA (wands/recharging?). Honestly, recharging was in during classic on live but the big difference in many cases is that the drops were rarer and the cost was higher. Right now there is a ridiculous intersection where drop rate, item power and recharge cost meet.

I think the person who made this topic had excellent points, just not the even temperment needed to express them properly.

People have obviously been using exploits, and thus far the only thing actually said about it is "You should have reported it, so deal with it" which is kind of funny considering those posts were immediately followed by people saying they did report it, repeatedly, with no effect.
The people who did use those exploits, definitely for personal gain, didn't report them until after they had used them to full effect in order to make sure no one else could, essentially cheat, like they did.
I can't honestly say I wouldn't have done it myself to level or get gear, but reporting them after I used them so no one else can is incredibly underhanded. That's like a Politician advocating against gay marriage because he just broke up with his secret boyfriend. That's pretty much the definition of hypocrisy, do one thing, say the opposite.

As far as favortism, punish the people who used it. I do not know if it is a herculean effort to find out who used exploits, but letting people abuse something then get it stopped once they are finished is ridiculous. I understand this isn't anywhere near the real Classic EQ, but one of the things that made classic so fun was that everyone was on equal footing. I know for a fact that if you were caught using a bug or exploit to your advantage that Verant would ban you. Hell, you couldn't even have compound names back then unless you hid from GMs the whole time. I know the GMs and coders have a lot to do, and I do truly appreciate the time and effort you all have given, but the reasons/excuses given for this topic have been repeatedly proven wrong by following posts.
I'm unsure as to what course of action is best, but you have banned people for using MQ and ShowEQ but seemingly wish to allow the use of exploits that create a much greater disparity among players than those two programs do.

All in all, something should be done in the sense of equality. If nothing else just suspend the people who used it for a few weeks which will allow many more people to catch up to them. It would impose on them something like the timeframe it would have taken to reach that character and gear level without having used an exploit.

Even if P1999 isnt using the exacty PEQ database (which I know its not), the structure and processes should be similar enough for it not to be completely hard to change the sell rate on a fucking item. EVERY item has this modifier.

Like I said, it was based off of the PEQ database, I dont know the fieldnames or Table Names of the P1999 database, but im damn sure it was used as a basis. The Sell Rate is what the Vendor marks up the buy price at (EDIT: PRICE is the Fieldname on PEQ), shit I can even give you the line of the EQEmu Server Code where it calculates the price if you want that. The Buying Price doesn't change, the "syntax" is fine. I write SQL and Programs for a living, I know how to write a Query.

Using the Query I gave you, It would update the SELLRATE field of the Golem Metal Wand (I could write you another query so I didnt need to find the damn ItemID of the Wand if you really want).

Ok, hows this, so you dont need to find the actual ItemID, just rely on the Name of the Item.

I found a new pathing exploit in Velketor's Labyrinth and Nirgon got put on death row until 2012. I recently made appeals and sprung him.
