Best race for necro

Dark Elves are my fav race, but have the least populated/frustrating starting zones and really no exp quests that I recall being effective.

Gnomes...hate the bastards, but I can effectively do cb belts quests.

Erudites ... int is nice considering int items are pretty low to find on classic until higher lvls. Bad vision, shitty starting area .. I suppose I can find a port or run my happy ass to a better area .. anyone know if they are kos to elves?

I suppose I'm looking for a good low to mid game with efficient leveling as well.

Considering bards are gimped, I'm considering making a necro instead after getting 1v1'd by a pet when 100% ready and losing. Would make a mage and be OP like every other mage, but nahh.. I also don't like mana issues, so necros and their mana >> hp make downtime not too bad eh?

Overall, what do you guys think about necros on this server

mages are only OP early. well...until they get epic pet anyways. i really haven't seen an ugodly number of mages tbh.

necros get godlike after kunark pvp-wise...and they're awesome in classic too if played right. i'm amazed lovely beats them all the time. lifetaps hurt.

gnome necros > all imho. great starting area, plenty of chips...faction can easily be worked for elves...not too many downsides to a gnomer.

i was going off the non-kos at druid rings...but it's not a guarantee. if you get bound in Gfay tho u could just work the faction in CB...not a big deal.
