Yeah, Xosire's got history around here. I saw him paying for a port the other day and was very tempted to give him a ride to toxx and leave him there. It wouldn't mean much since he'd probably just gate, but :P

Do what I do. Group with him, and if he doesn't donate right away, ask him where he's going and then cast Ring of XXXX instead. Oops stupid newbie druid mistake. and then disband and have fun :) Or port him somewhere equally as useless like Sro or Lavastorm.

it's not bannable, but it is frowned upon. I've seen a porter get DT'd before after he ported someone to toxx. It was pretty hilarious.

I'm sure if it's xosire that get's ported to toxx it will be ignored if/when he petitions.

Xosire has much more of a history than stiffing druids on a tip. Lets see, Trained a group in KC 2x without a single train call, Was AFK then Trained a Guild member in Hate after realizing they were moving to a different location, has jumped Guilds so much that everyone knows how much a douche and newb he is.

Advice to anyone to have the honor of meeting him:


Act like he is a Black cat crossing your path, go the opposite direction.
If ever he is LFG look harder for a different cleric, he sucks so bad he most likely bought his account.
Do not Guild Him, He will go AFK or forget to heal when most needed in a Raid.
Shun his offers for a Res, not worth him touching you for fear of a Debilitating Disease.

Everyone's time is worth different things.

Consider that a "deal" for powerlevelling right now is 1k per hour. Let's assume then that 1k per hour is a fair hourly wage. If you consider a wizard/druid has to expend a minimum of 450 mana to group port, then gate, it will take them 2.25 minutes just to med that mana back. That's 37.5pp just for med time. Add in the additional running the druid/wizard has to do to get back to where they were, and 50p is reasonable. Any less and they are doing you a favor.

A similar analysis would show that 3-5pp is a "fair" donation for SoW, and 10pp is a "fair" donation for clarity.

I've paid 200 plat for a single evac from kc while i was already in kc and the wizard was doing nothing but sitting in kc. i didn't even get a sow.

there is no fair and not fair. People pay what they want when they want to who they want and people except whatever pay they want from who they want when they want.

50p is pretty standard for a port isn't it? From anywhere other than EC anyway.

99% of the time if I get a port I'm getting one from OT via hammer. I usually give those folks 70p to port me somewhere which seems fine. 150p to port someone to DL and walk them to karnors for the EJ port sounds fine to me too.


On the flip side, I don't like when Druids (or shaman) walk up to me, cast sow on me, then sit in my face waiting for me to give them c2. SoW isn't a tip and I didn't even need it since I have jboots which are good enough. Especially druids, who I know have money to tip since they're porting people. =P. So don't do that if you aren't friends with the person.

I don't have a set rate when I port people. Whatever people give me is what I take. Unless someone throws out serious plat I make more farming than porting. I don't really port for the money, its more about being nice.

if they are following PNP rules here, this would be considered griefing and you could be punished for it.

If someone you don't like/has a bad rep asks you for something and you don't want to do it, just say so and don't do it. Porting/binding for griefing purposes might get you in trouble or it might not, but I say skip the drama.

Technically the only place you could port and bind someone at, you must be a Wizard though, is Gfay.

Its the only outside zone in the game that I know of that you can bind others anywhere in the zone.
