View Full Version : PvP = p1999? Recent spell changes affecting p1999

All of the below confirmed *working* in p1999 blue in PVE:
* Null: Added a 10% chance for direct damage spells to land for full until the chance to resist the spell is <=10%
* Null: Added a 5% chance to land any spell
* Null: Removed Partials from Root and Snare.
* Null: Increased resist rate on Root and Snares. I did this because of SoW being removed by using these spells. Right now the resistance rate is inbetween current beta and live I believe.
* Null: Added a chance to break root from melee. The chance for root to break is equal to 20% of the damage dealt
Level 52 enc in Befallen with 117 magic resist getting heat blood, life tap (full damage) and ghoul root hitting me, would NEVER hit before patch as the mobs are level 5-20 (max).
The melee root break is very annoying and thus nerfs the root spell in pve (bad enough as it is). Root was resisted a LOT before patch now it is ridiculous.
Is this working as intended?

This game is just getting goofier by the day. I said in another thread that the pet XP nerf was because of Red 1999 and so is all this crap.
I can understand some of their concerns on Red, but to throw everyone under the bus on Blue to make 25 people happy on Red in the long run just sucks I think.
This game was never meant to be easy, I know that. But if you are new to this sever now it has become hard as hell to level up.There just does not seem to be any class worth playing as of late.

What does any change on RED99 have to do with you being bored of the game? Go cry somewhere else.

The Red99 changes are screwing over low level classes because there isn't much of a low level population, and all of the solo classes are being gimped to all hell because of the changes

The good news is all the low level players can just buy their toons in the east common land tunnels (for in game plat of course).

I am almost sure they are using a modified P99 code base for Red99. If they are not now doing so, they are going to need to. There is no way one code base can properly serve two masters in the long run.
If they DO try to stick to one, then I hope to god they just pepper the code with "if" statements instead of trying to modifying normal "classic" play just a little bit to make PVP play better. It would be antithematic to P99. Lets not let the tail wag the dog.
