i'm not talking Pokemon, Naruto,

Did any of you enjoy it? its changed alot since the 90's, i personally thought
it was better back then. I was more fond of Subtitled anime rather
than dubbed with english voices.

my faves were - Tank Police, El Hazard, Sailor Moon,
Devil Hunter Yohko, Akira, Fist of the North Star, Some Neon Genesis
Evangelion, Macross Plus, Ghost in the Shell, Golden boy, and many
more i cant remember at the moment

There was a real cool Japanese Anime from the 90s maybe someone can help me remember it. I believe it was about a undead japanese army and a few powerful heroes had to run around the countryside and a few key cities to prevent them from taking over. It was really dark and exaggerated the final boss moments alot. I remember the final fight was this gigantic demon creature that came out of some sort of bottomless void. Every single main hero except for the main character, even the girl that he had a crush on or was dating I can't remember which, died in it. He finally did some amazing final attack(and they killed this monster like 3 times and it kept coming back more powerful from its void killing more of the heroes.) I think he threw some sort of lance or powerful spear at its center and it killed it for real. =p

This sound like anything familiar to anyone, would like to find this movie.

Vampire Hunter D

NOT Bloodlust, the original was from 1985, and Bloodlust was 2000....so neither are '90's' anime...

Very good, I guess there are many novels, but I'm not sure how many are translated and my kanji isn't up to the skill level to read anything like that...

Watched a lot in the 90's when I was a kid.

I liked:

Akira. One of the first big ones. Post apocalyptic, sort of like Japan meets Mad Max. Got me into motorcycles at a young age.

NGE. Was really way too young to watch something so fucked up, but it's great. Describing it would take too long but it's the thinking man's giant robot anime with some really involving characters + a Shakespearian tendency to gravitate towards tragedy.

Vampire Hunter D. Think gothic Castlevania / Dracula. Very old - early 80's I think. Hellsing is good too and came later, less serious in tone.

Bastard!! Nobody has seen this and it's just awesome

Fist of the North Star. Really over the top and violent, but entertaining. Basically an 80's action movie.

That's what came to mind off the top of my head. And yeah anything Miyazaki is A++

I've never liked anime. I had a friend once try to get me into it by making me watch Akira (or something, I think that's the name) and I couldn't sit through it. It's all repulsive to me - the artwork, the way action scenes are animated, the supposed seriousness of it. Ugh.

Runescape lol.

Even WoW was too anime for my tastes. It wasn't in the asian style but it still looked too much like a cartoon.
