I'm pretty sure neither of those servers have ever exceeded p99's population.

Neither of those servers have even come close to P1999's population or player retention rate.

Unless you count the mini-Sam Deathwalker's character farms on those servers as individual players, it's a bit misleading, no one on EZ or THF in their right mind single boxes.

I remember a guy on EZ who 13-boxed. Sometimes more.

I thought it was common knowledge that Nilbog leaving basically meant the end of GM events.

But yea either way P99 is slowly dying. It had an unprecedented though.

Hope Red99 hits the 500 mark for at least the first few days.

All you have never played EQ PvP should try it. And server opening is the time to do it. There will be no gear gap between players for a LONG time and that's when PVP is at its best.

Confirming what secrets said. Average player on THF/EZ boxes at *least* three characters. Divide the server population on those two by three or four, and you have a legit population count.

At one point on thf before I left, it was not uncommon for top guilds of 25 players to actually be 5 guys playing 5 or 6 characters at once with the aid of mq2 macroing.

They changed the loot rule on RZ about 1 year into classic on RZ, Alot of player quit RZ after the changes.I really feel a server should never change rules after it made and player join server on them rules, it's not fair to the people that put there time into playing on that server under them rule sets.Whatever Rogean and staff decide on R99 rule set im game as long as they dont change it afterward like RZ did..

A classic red server doesn't have to adopt all of the rules of RZ. I'm not sure where people get this idea but it's silly. A classic red server just means that the PvE content will all be classic and that the PvP rules will probably be some hybrid of the rules of the various pvp servers that existed in the early days of eq. As fun as item loot is for some people, it's an absolute no-no with the eqemu pvp community the way it is (which is comprised almost entirely of griefers and shit heads who are unaffected by bad reputation). They're concerned about the population staying consistently high which just won't happen with item loot.

So excited about this. I started playing on the official Progression servers lately which are nice, but I really miss the old school RZ PvP. Level 1-4 corpses littering the starting zones etc. So much chaos to begin with and so much fun!

Starting up on whatever PvP server sony have now (Vallon?) is pointless. Too many restrictions, too many twinks.

Current EQLive pvp is dead. Too big a world, too small a population, too many 1 hit bs abilities, not to mention Mercs /shudder

One thing I always loved about EQ Pvp was that there was no instant cast bs 1 hit kills like so many other games. (This did not come until around Planes of Power) Which is why I am soooo psyched about a classic legit pvp server.

Not to mention blue is too easy. I get bored of just camping for levels and gear... whats it all for if you cannot kill people with the gear you get and fight over the good spawns and have epic guildwars. Whats a guildwar on blue? Whichever guild cries more wins. Fight to the death I say!

Have always played RedEQ. Tried Fippy but its not the same without pvp.
Didn't you already have a chance at the kind of server you are describing? Thinkin its pretty dead in the graveyard of fail ideas. Did you have fun with the other 50 people who wanted this ruleset? You will probably play this server anyways despite your "threat?" of not playing.

Lawl, that's the original rules of the true pvp server, scrub. Rallos Zek was +4/-4, but these rules are better with a smaller population ~

People misunderstand pvp servers .. dont forget , WE killed the sleeper on rallos, not a bluebie server. 90% of the server is anti-pk anyways, its mostly like a normal server. If you don't have a recognized guild, you don't get a group at higher levels and that's that :P mess up your reputation and you'll be flagged as a pker very quick. news spreads fast.

yea, ppl can gank the balls off u but it adds realism. having to sneak thru a zone jus adds to the game. plus every1 on ur team usually helps eachother.
