Its great to see slow but steady work being done , and being done fixing faction levels in general. But with release "soon" , I am wondering if the issue of faction and npc's assisting the higher faction players in pvp will be fixed and put in?

A perk of picking a certain diety at char creation "should" be expecting a greater level of protection from some of the factions within your home city. So this is important from 5 seconds after character creation onward.

Is this on the bugs "list to do" ?

This should be the lowest

It's important to me. I've spent the past 2 weeks working a lot with factions.

Good to hear. I think it's a really important also so the casual players have a place to be safe when the hardcore uber gank squad comes around the corner.

this,
on beta there were so many ppl complaining that guards wouldn't help them in gfay from the gnome army of casters

gonna be 10 fold the bitching when it takes 10x the amount of time to level

i hate people that run to hide behind mommy to save themselves from pvp

i cant tell you how many elfs tried to go up the lift to escape pvp , but i went up with them and fucked them all the way to the bank

i will confess tho

i pvp 'd in OT on zek for a long time , most people just hugged the pok book , but i bound myself in the outpost , did sarnak braids to buff faction and when i was losing i ran inside

many chased and found themselves tanking npcs

and i just finished them off and gloated , skill? Definitley not , but then again eq requires none and its just click click win ( or lose ) in lovelys case

Are we talking about faction as in,

Player A sits near guards, player B attacks player A, guard kills player B because Player A has better faction? If so yes.

Also it is very very very classic, on all pvp servers, I think or it may have only been the racial team servers. When you slay a player you would lose faction to that home city. IE if a high elf killed an erudite, they would take a faction hit for erudin. I know for sure this persisted through kunark, me and a buddy had a squabble in lake of ill omen lvling, i killed him and took a erudin faction hit. This was later changed to only taking a faction hit if you kill a player in there home city. IE you kill a wood elf in gfay, kelethin hates you more. This was eventually taken out, however it will make faction useful and meaningful, please consider this.

Faction hits for cities when killing players in any zone actually sounds like a very good idea. It would go a long way toward decreasing mindless griefing. Would this be possible? Even better would be to base it off of race, class and deity. IE: PKing a gnome necro reduces Ak'Anon guard faction and Dark Reflection faction.

Again, no idea if it would be doable. But damn would it be awesome! :D

that was on the team servers.

since were talking about faction guess i should plug the whole nagafen/vox/mistmoore/splitpaw/kedge starting off at scowl instead of threaten/dubious again.

You mean that thing you still have no evidence for?

Put it in the bugs section, with evidence and data.

Cleric of Prexus starts KOS in kedge keep on alkabor

Druid of Karana starts KOS in splitpaw on alkabor.

what combo do you "remember" (lol) being not KOS in solB and Permafrost?

oh god not the whole let me talk about al kabor when any and everything on it is completely and utterly irrelevant for the given timeframe thing.

that whole losing faction mechanic was only if you killed them in their newb zones or cities i think

If this were in I would be KOS in every town. And revenge kills or self defense kills would bepenalized.

everything ive posted has been accurate but for a minor and momentary confusion over a spell for a class i never played that was edited minutes later, try not to chafe my nuts with all that excessive riding captain al'kabor.

I do think there may be something to Mistmoore for certain class/race combos though. I'll run a dark elf warrior there later on Al'kabor and check.

And to put a rest to Splitpaw, i'll run a human of Brell Serelis there just to make sure.

There were areas that DID start non kos, like the pickclaw goblins in HHK for example (for most combos at least) , and its the same on Al'kabor. I want to say Mistmoore is another, and i'll check it.

Ok I ran a Dark Elf agnostic Warrior to Mistmoor and he was KOS to everything he conned at the entrance. Oh well.

Ran a Human Bard of Brell Serilis to /con the gnolls inside and out of Splitpaw. KOS to them, despite both being brell worshipers. Can't think of another combo that has a greater chance of being anything but KOS in splitpaw.

check dwarf/gnome of brell

Palemoon

check dwarf/gnome of brell

I thought that, but I remembered the lore about gnolls vs dwarf/gnomes "fighting" over who Brell loved most , who were his "original" children, etc. So figured there would be less then neutral racial faction. But ill look now with a gnome (more neutral then a dwarf).

edit: Gnome Warrior of Brell = KOS to the gnolls of Splitpaw

Incidently, when I ran the toons to Paw, I /conned the putrid skeletons I passed.

Human Bard of Brell = Threatening to the Putrid Skeletons
Gnome Warrior of Brell = Indifferent to the Putrid Skeletons

I do belive the Putrid Skeletons in south karana are on Blood Saber faction? fyi. Now that I think of it, it makes sense that gnomes as a race have such a good standing with the bloodsabers, since its "expected" that their coreligionist Dark Reflection gnomes would visit the shrine under qeynos or what not. EQ faction is a beautiful thing :)

Faction better be classic so my newbie slaying troll can wine quest his way to faction loving with Neriak!

This is half the reason I loved to newb pvp in Neriak. I'd get Nektulos riled up and the run in there and let the newbs play me until the guards started massacring them when they came back to bank.

nagafen and vox (the dragons themselves and their giant guards, not the rest of the shit in the dungeons) started as threatening to most combos.

kedge started as threatening to most combos

splitpaw was dubious to my human karana druid

most but not all mobs in mistmoore was threaten to most

an enchanter (at least a high elf) could use their buffs to raise one faction level and get to dubious in all of these places so long as they had not killed anything.

i know what i know and that is how it was on the live servers from when i played until i quit, if they dont implement it here whatever however thats how it was and is indeed classic.

It's extremely telling that you've posted this numerous times despite being asked for evidence, yet you've never provided evidence.

How did red not see that this was azrak/sundawg? Reading a few of his posts, I could tell almost immediately, especially with all the faction talk (Thats what Sundawg does).

Also, necro bump
