“Start the Abuse”
Tournament.

Date: June 28th (ALREADY HAPPENED)
Time: 6pm Eastern
Zone: West Karana http://wiki.project1999.com/West_Karana
Teams: up to 4 members(must have at least one and ONLY ONE cleric)
Type: All teams must be flagged red by P O Discord (Qeynos)
Purse: 1st 20k, 2nd TBD. 3rd TBD-

This will be held TBD at 6pm eastern time. The maximum number of participants on a team is 4. The object of the game is to drop off your cleric in the end-zone. All teams will start off in the Start-zone(Spot 9 Guard tower) progressing to the End-zone(spot 4 guard tower). The most successful teams should destroy the opposing team with a gladiator type mentality. No goodwill or sportsmanship will be tolerated! Tournament will be conducted in a bracket style with a wildcard presented in the losing bracket. As always with a Mechlingburger and Mitico LLC production A "twist" could occur, be wary be ready!

Starting rules:
Before each event you will have a 2 min buff window to buff you/r teammates.
Teams must start in Start-zone.
Teams are ONLY allowed to rezz in Start_zone. If you die in the field a team member has to drag the rotten corpse back to the Start zone.
Clickies are allowed in this area but must be only cast on self or members in the start zone area.
No attacking will be permitted in the Start-zone.
You are not allowed to use an increase in run speed at ANY TIME.

Field play:
You must destroy the other team and/or get your cleric to the End zone (Spot 4 Guard Tower).
T-staff is outlawed.
No clickies can be used in this area!

We're also pushing our Velious Beta raids a bit more and we've been very successful.

We killed Zland before Dragon Necropolis stopped working. We've killed the 3 baby bosses in Sleeper's Tomb, we've obliterated Vindi, and Tormax/Statue are absolutely dying the next time we attempt them (it's hard to raid when half the clerics and DPS are being boxed) and we've killed a handful of ToV targets. Killed CT with 28 and Hand of Veeshan with 25ish.

King Tormax down, AoW to 47%. Good job chums.

Starting the new year off right. On repop night we dropped draco and CT with under 30 people while under the threat of competition, then expertly killed Hand of Veeshan in Sky with only 20 after all the death touches fired off.

Then on Friday we had a flawless Tormax kill on beta, followed by a flawless Vindi kill, and a flawless Statue kill. Avatar of War got us in the end at 47% but it was a good first try. CH chains and tank transitions are child's play.

Plus the dozen Chardok Royals kills or the half dozen Hate/Fear clears that happened over the weekend. If you want to do some casual raiding BDA is the place to be.

Blood, everywhere. Falling from the heavens, sticking to our boots. The corpses of the Gimpatron Alliance crowded the tainted plane. The metallic taste bit my mouth, but I admit, it was better than the fecal stench that had polluted the crowd outside the portal into Fear for the past 15 hours...

Cazic-Thule's shouts boomed across the zone. I remembered the lyrics of an ancient song of slaying sung by bards, “LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR, LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR.” Fearfully, I gripped tight my blessed sword and trudged onward to our camp in the northern mountains of the plane. Less of a camp, and more of a muddy cubby where we would wait to die.

Had I even slept? Barely. Murmurs of specters and the phantoms calls of neckbeards flit through my mind as I had lain back, watching the Fear Portal with one eye open.

But, that did not matter now. The denizens of fear rushed toward our army to protect their master. We put them down. Again, and again. My arms shook and my mouth was dry. Exhausted. The golems came. I watched my comrades die. In his insanity, Kalzuid, the skeletal druid, charged to the foot of Cazic-Thule himself. We picked up the pieces of his his body.

The Gimpatron Alliance could not recover under the horrible onslaught. It was up to us. Or else, Cazic-Thule would unleash a reign of Terror upon Rivervale.

Suddenly, amid the hellish combat, I saw the god of Fear in the distance. An avenue of blood-drenched grass opened between us as though Rallos Zek himself said, “Filbus, go forth and conquer!” I cried out for the clerics to aid me, and robing me in their protective wards, I waded across the battlefield.

The troops gathered behind me. This was our chance!

I took a drink of water. My very last. Harvested from the depths of a bard's boots.

“FOR RIVERVALE!” I cried as I closed the last gap and struck the God of Fear with my blessed blade. A piercing wail smote the air and half of our army fell to the ground, paralyzed by fear. Cazic-Thule had summoned his army.

We exchanged blows, back and forth, pitching against the earth and making mountains in the mud. But, I am a halfling, and Cazic-Thule is a god. When I staggered from a crushing blow, he picked me up and drew me towards his terrible face. I could see the pain of battle in his eyes. He was not invincible.

“Now, for your greatest fear,” Cazic-Thule breathed.

I tensed under his ashen gaze.

“TICKLE TORTURE!” The God of Fear cackled.
As he reached towards me to violate my belly, I cried out. Rallos Zek intervened, and I leaped forward and planted my blade between Cazic-Thule's eyes.

No more, God of Fear, will you plague us! The army of Bregan has defeated you!!

Some sad news to report, a member of the BDA family has passed away. Figaro hadn't been active for a long time but he definitely left a mark on anyone that knew him. I'm sure many older members that have passed through BDA remember him fondly.

He had such an awesome sense of humor, he would play his guitar in vent, he was a GREAT enchanter (one of the best I've ever seen personally), but most importantly he was a great person with a big heart.

He will be missed, and our best wishes go out to his wife and children.
