I tried to report this before but I got a generic "we don't want to change this neener neener" response. I ignored it then, but after using the boat repeatedly on Red99 this is driving me a little nuts.

The boat from Antonica to Faydwer always traveled incorrectly. What I mean about this is to get from Freeport to Butcherblock, you'd travel west, even though Butcherblock is geographically located east of Freeport. The reverse is true.

For whatever reason, developers have decided to "correct" this so that the boat travels east from Freeport to Butcherblock and vice versa for no reason other than "it makes sense."

The problem is that this isn't classic at all. When taking the boat from Freeport to Butcherblock, your first stop should be sister island. From Butcherblock to Freeport the first stop should be the kiola nut merchant island. This is totally reverse on Project 1999.

Additionally, when the boat arrives at the Freeport docks, it anchors parallel to the docks when it should be perpendicular like the Butcherblock, Erudin, and South Qeynos boats.

Just seems like they corrected the old "incorrect" boat travel path. Not "classic" but hmmm..

Mixxit made the boat routes. I do not believe the routes were 'corrected' on purpose, but I could be wrong.

As long as they are working, i'm not touching them at the moment. Will fix on a rainy day in the future.

I guess I should add that Al'kabor still has working boats (no stupid gnome translocators) and the boats in OOT go in the "classic" wrong directions. I guess its the last offical server with them.

Actually I thought it was from Qeynos to Odus the boat dosent make port at the island. My mind is telling me I jumped ship and swam to the island recently on al'kabor when doing some rinky dink quest...

Not shown on the above maps are the two boat routes. The route from Erudin to Qeynos is from +380, +1780 to +380, -580 along a due easterly course. The route from Qeynos to Erudin starts at -440, -2200, travels westerly until approximately -480,-650 at which point it veers southward and comes up alongside the island to dock at #5 above. It then disembarks and travels south until approximately -2000, -675 at which point it begins to turn westward, and eventually leaves at -2800, +2540.

Also, the boat itself isnt classic(New model), the water in OOT isnt classic(Looks light green color rather than blue, compare to freeport water), and what the hell is that levitation buff you get while on the boat? Seems like it might of been everquest's way to easily fix issues with people falling off or something but still... not classic.

I realized I just shit up your thread because the main point is really that the boats ARE taking the opposite paths as they did on classic. I'll make a new thread.
