I just set up everything I needed too, and followed the directions closely. I had this problem before and figured I just did something wrong, so I uninstalled and did everything again and I still have this problem. I searched around and found that a lot of other people did as well, and I tried all of the possible solutions that worked for them. None of them worked for me. I tried fixing the resolution in the eqclient.ini, i also changed the windowedmode. I tried running in 640x480, someone also said to switch to version 95, which I tried and that didn't work. Is there any other possible solution I missed? Any help would be appreciated!

The problem reads "The instruction at 0x05f49c88 referenced memory 0x00000004. The memory could not be read. Press OK to terminate the problem."

I can't remember if on my latest machine I had the program being run by a different windows version, but if I did it would be XP.

Are you running the program as Administrator?

Yep, I have tried both as administrator and not just in case.

Sure you have a good copy of the client? Could be something corrupt and it did not install fully/correctly.

I'm using SOF if that could be the problem... I heard there were problems with it but I figured I would at least be able to get on to try it out LOL. I bought it a year or so back and I'm pretty sure it works just fine. I got it from Best Buy.

This server only works on the Titanium client. Maybe try the steps for a different server that works with SOF? I dunno, just a thought. Somethings not matching up. Does the game install and work without modifying it to run these servers? As if you were to play on live.

I restarted my computer just because I though, what's the harm in it? Now when I run as admin it doesn't give me that error message, the black screen comes up... then crashes without saying anything. If I don't run as admin, the error message I posted earlier comes up.

That's what I did, installed it the way it told me if I had SOF. And yep, it works otherwise if I didn't modify it. Maybe I'll just have to go buy the titanium client then.

Darn... well I guess I'll just have to go out and find the Titanium client. Anyone know of any other place I got get it beside Amazon? That's the only place I know of so far.
