Anybody heard of SirTech? They were a game company, popularly known for the Jagged Alliance and Wizardry series in the late 90's and early 2000's. Website used to be: www.sir-tech.com.

You can go here to find out about them:

I downloaded the demo for Wizardry 8. Looks kind of fun. I'm still playing in Jagged Alliance 2, but has anyone played Wizardry 8? How was the experience? Just how big is ti compared to the demo? I hear it's epic. The complaints I've seen are that the combat doesn't translate well to 3d and that it's too grindy without much direction.

Demo is located here:

Yes, I am shamelessly and unapologetically advertising SirTech. They were great during that time period.

I recommend Jagged Alliance 2 if you're looking to play an old(ish) game for fun. It really is worth it. It will play on Windows XP (i'm using SP3). It should play on Vista/7 I would think. I have it in ME/98 mode.

There's a 1.13 patch/mod for it as well that has extensive changes. I'm playing 1.12 gold (vanilla), though.

Wizardry 8 is bad.

Play Wizardry 5 instead.
