It's making my game crash when I zone from Neriak to Nektulos, and I can't log into the character who's now stuck in Nektulos.

Think this is happening in most zones. Had the same when zoning from Steamfont > Lfay.

It has everything to do with it. The ''old'' folder isn't supposed to be in the new patch file so you obviously extracted the ''old'' folder into your existing EQ folder along with the rest of the patch. You wouldn't be having this problem otherwise.

I cannot create a new toon and enter the game. It keeps trying to send me to a tutorial zone and then pops up an error that the zone is not available.

If you just dropped it all in then it shouldn't cause problems, but you can always delete the "old" folder I guess. Otherwise just extract dbstr_us, spells_us, dsetup.dll and the global load file (in the resources folder)

Edit: May not want to take my advice, I extracted everything perfectly but still crash every time I attempt to log in.

Extracted files manually, logged into PVP beta, selected character logged out in Ocean of Tears, client crashes with do you want to report message.

Patched EQEmuLauncher with PVP beta selected, selected character logged out in Ocean of Tears, client crashes with do you want to report message.

Ya same, still crashing. Though some people in certain zones can relog in from an alt once, however when they attempt to zone they will get the issue as well.

Would like to note that this is also on the Beta R99 server.

They extract as a separate folder with the old versions of the dll and the spells file. The new V16 counterparts are included in the patch and extracted directly into the Everquest directory, doing their job. Having the old ones in a folder by themselves does nothing at all. It's like backing up your UI files or something. You can delete them and nothing happens, nor does it fix the problem. It's just a backup of the old files and they don't do anything as long as they're in a separate folder, no matter where that folder is. It has nothing to do with the crash problem.

I'm out of troubleshooting ideas and feel the problem lies with the patch itself.

i logged into lake rathe fine but after leveling a few times i went to zone into SK and crashed...and can not log back in now without it crashing before i can load the zone

OK found a Solution to the Red99 patch issue, though I anticipate a lot of people will have this issue.

If you already extracted the new patch and are having problems crashing while zoning

1) Do a system restore to the last good save point on your computer, prior to extracting the new patch. (Search "restore" in your OS if you need to find the tool)

2) After system restore does its thing and reboots your comp...

3) Delete the "OLD" folder from the new v 16 patch zip and extract the v16 patch as normal into your eq folder, overwriting everything else as usual.

It has nothing to do with the "old" folder. I extracted contents to dektop, manually deleted the "old" folder before moving the other file sinto directory. Crashed zoning in KaladimA to KaladimB, can not log any characters online now without client crashing.

Seems like when you are alone in a zone you're fine. Then someone tries to zone in, they get a crash and can't get in. Then the original persons zones and crashes, and after some indetermined amount of time the zone works again but as soon as another tries, crash again.

Pretty sure you can get the 'non-pro' version for free off that site. Just requires a registration to them is all.

Been trying to log onto a character parked in Greater Faydark on Red99Beta for hours without old file with no success. Decided to try a character parked in West Freeport and was successful for the first time, with no one else in zone.

I downloaded the zip, extracted all files by hand (meaning drag drop each file one at a time) without touching the old folder, works fine for me. Logged in, played a few hours, ran from permafrost to sk without any crashes or issues.

regular p99 tells me my files are outdated so I can't log on.

Anti-virus is disabled and it stops when downloading the .dll on eqemu launcher.

I keep getting a message at character creation that says my files are out of date. I did everything on the getting started section, and even tried using the Duxa's All in one installer, but It keeps getting hung up on the dsetup.dll file. Can anyone talk me through this?
