I played quite regularly on server up until mid September. I moved to Ohio, switched to AT&T, and everytime I log in now I get a blank server screen. I've run traceroutes to the server, it completes fine. I've tried setting up a static IP and port forwarding, no luck. I've connected directly to the DSL modem and still nothing.
I've tried it with firewalls on and off, ports open like normal. I've tried calling AT&T and they blame the wireless router when I connect directly to their modem even. The wireless router is brand new, and set up exactly like the one I had at my old house, same brand and model etc etc.
I am really out of ideas. I'm not the most computer savvy person, but I've tried all I can think of, and some ideas from friends, and I still cannot see a serverlist.
The only change is ISP. Same laptop, same wireless router, etc. It worked the morning before the move, and did not work the day after I moved. Any help, I would be much appreciative of any advice to try and get me back into the server. I've searched everywhere.

I'm not 100% sure what your issue is, but if I were you I would try completely uninstalling + deleting EQ folders from your registry, and then freshly installing everything. If you don't use EQ Emu patcher, then I would suggest doing that as well. Ever since I got the EQ Emu patcher I seem to have less problems. This also makes things easier as you don't have to manually download and install patches when they are released. I don't know that much about computers either, but when I'm having a big issue, I just reformat and the problem goes away :P If all else fails, switch ISP? Again, I don't know much either, so these are suggestions that may or may not work.

I've always done all the downloading manually, but I suppose uninstalling and trying to use that this time is worth a go. I think thats the only thing I haven't done yet. We'll see what happens, fingers crossed.

Full reinstall, did the patching etc thru EQ Emu Launcher. Still no servers on the server select screen.

That's really interesting. I remember I had the exact same problem at one point, but it didn't last very long and went away on it's own. Try sending Rogean a message on the forum and see what he has to say.
I'm surprised that not even port forwarding did anything. Maybe it's a hardcore issue with your modem. As a last resort, maybe try a different modem or ISP.

I wish I could, but stayin at a friends so it's their DSL modem. And it's fairly new though that doesn't always matter. Talked with AT&T on the phone a few times and they don't know. I sent Rogean a PM, but been a week or two and he's a busy guy.

I wish I could figure out a way to solve it. I've got nothing so far. Been a month almost. Lately tried setting up a googledns and running through that as someone suggested, no luck. I've tried everything I can think of, and many suggestions from others. But nothing has worked and I still see a blank server list everytime. I can run WoW and WoW emu servers fine and with barely any latency, if that actually matters.

Ok guys I'm having the same prob exactly.. I just posted another thread on this, of course before seeing this one but same thing.. right after the "remove wsock and eqdll or whatever I get blank server select screen and it takes me in excess of an hour sometimes to login. Even worse in peak usage hours. I have downloaded and tried the patcher (believe me I don't need it) and of course no luck. In fact I've tried everything even flushing dns cache (which an old forum with this prob recommended). No luck. Come one guys what's the prob here.. never had any issue before and there has been absolutely no configuration change on my end (been playing for over a year). It seems to be more of an eq emu related prob than a project 1999 specific prob though since I can't see ANY servers. I'm still hoping some of the wizzes here can help.

I've been hoping for that for a month now. I've tried everything. And the only change was my ISP. Perhaps that is it, but they've not been any help and I've tried everything else. And since I can play other games with little or no latency issues, I don't think speed is an issue which I read somewhere. I've even tried running through a VPN and still got nada. All the google searches are slightly older, but it seems to still be happening.

I am an att user as well just thought I'd note, It could have something to do with it. I'm also using a zoom router/modem combo, which has never given me any probs in the past (even with p99) but who knows. What I find strange is that using the eqemulauncher it will show all the servers in the launcher window, I can choose p99 server and hit play but it then launches the game and I have to login and it takes me again to the ingame server select screen where it shows no servers at all. Why does the launcher detect all the servers but the game will not. Very strange stuff here. Why does the launcher ask you to pick a server if it just launches the game where you have to pick the server again anyway? Is it supposed to start from the launcher directly into p99? Do I not have it set up right? It also doesn't seem like many people are having this problem or there would be much more feedback.

The last 2 days I've been able to log in every time first try, no problems whatsoever and I've changed nothing. Everything seems to be great now all of a sudden, I just hope it stays that way.

I wish I could say the same. Still no server list and I've pretty much run out of anything to try.

Manually browse to your Everquest directory.
Do you see the file dsetup.dll?
Is it named DSETUP.dll (caps) , or dsetup.dll (no caps)?

It's all lowercase. I just did a fresh install a few days ago, and I had been doing everything manually for the year almost I've been playing, but I did it with the fresh install with EQEmu Launcher. If that helps?

So, been over a month and still having the problem of no servers on login. Anyone found out anything about this, as it doesn't seem to be my isp and that is the only change that happened in the move. My laptop and the wireless router are the exact same. I think I've mentioned some of the step I've tried in this thread earlier, if you need more information just PM me or post here. I would like to be able to play again.

Maybe you could try using the custom P99 updater? Dunno if it would work but its worth a shot.

Yeah, my most recent reinstall was done completely with the eqemu launcher. Still no luck unfortunately.
Here's a thought.
Start fresh. Go to hotmail or gmail or whatever and make a new email acct.
Go to eqemu and use that account to make a new LS account.
Log in with that. This will provide clues to troubleshoot your problem.
Gluck!

I have 3 LS accounts, as I also played on some of the box servers, none of em. Think a whole new email acct would tell us somethin else? Can always try.

I just made a brand new one with an email I never used, still no server list.

I went into the advanced hardware settings for my NIC and turned off all of the offload features. Since then, I haven't had this issue. I turned them all off at once, so I'm not sure which seemed fixed the issue.

Maybe I'm just tired from class all day, or the headache, but refresh me how to go about that. I know a little about pcs and things, but I'm just not grabbin that one for some reason atm.

Right click My Computer and select "Manage". Click Device Manager -> Network adapters. Then right-click your NIC and choose Properties. When the properties window opens, select the Advanced tab. In the left pane will be the options to edit. Select each of the Offload settings (Large Send Offload, TCP Offload, etc) and set the value to False or Disabled. My NIC has two version of each of these, one for IPv4 and one for IPv6; i turned them both off in each case.

Well, I checked but under that tab I don't see any offload settings. So not sure if I've seen em elsewhere before, but I followed what ya said.
