What class would you make and why if Project 1999 never went pass classic?

I would choose a Shadowknight because would you really need a Warrior?

I would say... Troll Shaman. Trolls are awesome and Shamans are the bomb.

Totally depends what your looking for. Knights are better at holding aggro and might be preferable in exp groups but Wars are still the preferred Main Assist during raids. Although I don't think taunt works on any mob that is higher in level than the War who is taunting.
