a bard's buff and debuff due to a proc should stack with the casted version. (even if the same spell / casted spell is more powerful) It doesnt~

Same thing with Singing Steel Bracer DS. Every bard clicky effect or proc should stack on NPCs/PCs.

I didn't want to make a bug report since I really couldn't find much info at all on it. I don't think many people knew about it. We had our bards using Tash Orb stacking with Enchanter Tash line to slow mobs that was damn near 99% unslowable.

i suck at digging up old info, any other person remembers this besides bisch that could look it up and post links?

this was a very vital bard fascet, where you could say stack 2 tash (orb of tishan proc + ench tash)

In the off hand, where ratio is better than speed, this is a fine weapon. Keep your speedy weapons in the mainhand for the damage bonus and a good ratio'd weapon in the other. As for the proc, I can't speak for paladins, but I've had Guard stack with any other buffs I'm ever given. Then again, a bard proc'ing a JStick stacks with enchanter Tash, sp bard proc stacking has always been a bit weird (but benefically so). Anyway, it's worth using just until you get the proc and switching out if you wish. An extra 20AC never hurts :)

this is a tough one to find anything good on...

You could always stack one bard effect of any given name with everything. I.e one bard could proc orb of tashan, and stack it with enc tash, but 2 bards couldn't both proc their own version to have it stack.

Here's some more evidence:

(this post is just wrong, that's not how damage shields work, but regardless it mentions the bard stacking ability)

For Damage Shields there are basically two types. "Personal" and "General". Personal ones are the self-only Coat series Rang/Dru get, Call of Earth, O`Keil's, and Shaman Potion. General are all others: Thorns, Mage DS, Banshee Aura. The ring is Personal type. You are allowed one Personal and one General Damage Shield without using Bard stacking tricks.

So for general usage, this WILL stack with Thorns, Mage, NEC/SK Damage shields, but not Shamen Potions or other minor personal DSs.

Hope that clears it up a bit.

Actually mages summon these and give them to bards... who in turn cast them on other people. If a bard casts it, the effect will stack with every other damage shield out there, including the mage DS.

So yes this is an extreamly useful item.

Bump! If it's relevant whatsoever, you can see this buff/debuff stacking in action on the eqmac aka PoP time locked server. Especially the DS stacking part mentioned in the above post. Bard songs just never seemed to follow the same rules as regular spells.
