Sent out 50 invites and it gave me the option to invite more via facebook or email. Not sure what the limit is to this. PM me and maybe I can hook a brother up.

Before Spotify, I would download albums from what.cd and then plop them into Foobar. Not terribly complicated.

With Spotify, all I do is search for a band/album/song/genre/whatever and play.

Nothing really changes except there's a lot less steps, wasted time and effort. It's also way easier to check out a random band if I didn't want to log into what.cd and torrent an album.

There's also a lot of fringe benefits. Everything is streamed online, so that's major space saved on your hard drive. If I'm at a friend's, all I have to do is download Spotify, log in, and I have my entire music collection. The social aspect is awesome. Some of my friends are a bit computer illiterate. Before I'd burn CDs and send them, now all I have to do is click and drag to instantly share albums to friends.

I've discovered and rediscovered a LOT of music since I started using Spotify and that more than justifies the introductory price of free.

The streaming quality is "good" but not pristine. Most people won't even notice. If you pay $10 a month (totally worth it) you get 320kbps, offline mode (music downloaded to your PC), smartphone support, etc.

Also, new releases are added just as fast as you'd fine them in a store. Matter of fact, a lot of albums are getting exclusive Spotify releases. The new Das Racist album leaked via Spotify, for example.

I've had Spotify since like 2008, it's really great.

And you yanks should be thankful for this swedish foreign aid. I pay an equivalence of close $15 per month, while you get away with just $10! Nerf!
