View Full Version : Alright I know what we need to do

I've been giving it a lot of thought and I finally nailed down what we need to do.

First things first. I read the poll about "what class is going to be your main on PVP" and rest assured the best class will be Monks. I really like doing some good kicking and round houses and other sweet surprise attacks and I think monks really have this kind of thing in store in ways that other classes just dont.

I've been to the monk wiki site http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Monk

and monks seem to have the most combat skills compared to other classes. In PVP combat is everything because if you don't kill your enemy, they will surely kill you.

The other thing is that this server is going to be really rough. I've been reading old posts and I'm guessing that people will hit level 50 within a year of the server release and this will mean you need to really be ready to go right out of the gate.

For that reasons a monk is really the best class because they can make do with the least amount of items AND have the most combat abilities like kick and roundhouse kick and flying kick. Not to mention eagle strike.

As far as rules go I think that 1 on 1 is the most fair way to fight it really lets the individual fighters show off their skills to the max, with nothing else getting in the way.

Besides that, in other games like pokemon and dragonballz boudokai tensei 3 the battles are basically always 1 on 1 and I think we can draw some lessons from these other games.

Other than that, I think there should be a "belt" system in game and people with different belts wont be able to fight eachother. This way a weak white or yellow belt wont have to come against a really tough second degree yellow belt or even worse a purple belt.

Spells shouldn't be allowed in PVP because they don't really show off the players ability to "fight" its more of a spell casting thing which just isn't very much skill involved.

If anyone has any suggestions then probably it would be a good idea to post them here but Ive talked about this with some of my teachers and this is probably the best way to go for good pvp everquest.

Also what does it mean when you need a spell file? I dont want to use spells so I'd rather not get the spell file. Can i still play? I used to play in VZTZ and was really good there so I know a thing or two about this kind of fighting.

.....and then I did this sweet 360 off the rafters and led it into a falcon punch to your nutsack, obviously learned from playing a monk in PVP. Don't fuck with me ok I have a level 87 Ratticate that will totally Quick Attack ur Magikarp to death if I use the right skill combos mixed with previous pokeman experience in battles.

I'm glad this post is going so well. I really gave it a lot of though. The main thing is that I just want the pvp server to be the best one possible. Like I said, I was in the top 3 or maybe top 1 on VZTZ and Sullon Zek and I just really want to make sure this one is at least as good as those ones.

JayDee that really is a common thing that people says when they are fighting on pvp because some peoples strategy would be to run away a lot like a coward would. Other guys are a lot stronger and stand with auto attack on (to make sure the weapon attacks as soon as possible) and find out just who is the best fighter. I like it a lot better than way. With no spells, this would be even more exciting. Also no invisibility in PVP because otherwise it would be unbalanced and that would hurt server population.

The other thing I don't really like is heals but sometimes it is cool to have 1 healer and 1 monk against another healer and like a warrior and see who can win as long as the clerics can only use heals and nothing cheap like blinds or stuns. Its hard to click on the round kick button when you're blind especially if you are eating something like a sandwich at the same time.

The teacher I talked to teaches world history and is really smart and has seen what happens in war all the time and since on everquest PVP we are really trying to re create war as it once was I think her advice is something we should listen to.

Also I remember runnning out of bandages once in game and I think that characters should just have infinite bandages thats dumb.

Oh and MAPS ENABLED! Lets hear it guys.. MAPS ENABLED! I hate having to follow the path.

Thats about it.

p.s. THE RULES OF GOOD PVP. #1 no item loot wtf its so crappy when I lose items in game that I got on my own! Plus if I twink out a warrior in full crafted its retarded then some guy uses spells on me and makes it hard for me to kill them. With no item loot at least I dont have to lose my BP. #3 training ON what else am i supposed to do when someone else is strong? Lets be men here! #3 8 level limit because when you are like the same level its impossible to win so pvp would be pointless if you could only be 4 levels higher than the people you are OWNING. #4 NO GM involvement we can figure it out on our own like VZTZ no gms needed THANKYOU.

I used to have a monk on RZ, it was a very challenging class to play at early level due to wizard gank squads running around.

Once you get enough MR gear though, you will be the bane of casters. Also not many people play monks (on pvp servers) so it's a lot easier to get into groups/raids due to need for a monk puller.

Yeah from what I'm seeing on the monk wiki, monks are one of the more challenging classes because of things like round kick and tiger claw that take a lot more skill than just casting a spell.

It looks like we can all agree on the rules me and my teacher came up with so it looks like the server is ready to go?
