New Mumble Server
Hey all, I got a Mumble (http://mumble.sourceforge.net/) server started - aka Open Source Ventrilo/Teamspeak with better quality :)
Download the Client (Windows) (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mumble/files%2FMumble%2F1.2.2%2FMumble-1.2.2.exe/download)
Download the Client (Mac) (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mumble/files/Mumble/1.2.2/Mumble-1.2.2.dmg/download)
Server: 173.203.192.201
Use default port.
After logging in to server click 'Self' on the top menu, select 'Register' and you're preselected username will be registered to your I.P.

Want a Private Room?
Updates have been made, we are now capable of hosting private channels for you and your friends - join voicechat to make your request.

we had a p1999 ventrilo server at server launch, but after a while it ended up just becoming a guild ventrilo

i run a ton of web servers so i dont mind hosting one for now - if it gets out of control of course i would put in some sort of limitations or passwords etc.

If you want to see the voice chat list overlay in game:
Configure > Settings > Turn on 'Advanced' at the bottom
Go to Overlay > Change Font Color / Size, and Position
Now when you log in you will see an overlay of the names of players online and those who are speaking in the color you chose in the top right corner of your screen. Very helpful to know who's online and who's talking when you're in game.

Push to talk setup
-Click configure mumble
-Under audio input in transmission section select push to talk in the cascading menu.
-Then select Shortcuts icon in mumble configure screen
-Click Add (push to talk) then set your hot key next to it by clicking on shaded area. Then click the hot key you desire I.E (mouse scroll button)

It is strange, I got the same message last night it try's to auto re connect but it will keep failing. You have to manually click connect then enter server IP again not sure whats up with it.

Need more people to get on this chat program. Its highly monitored by the server host and there is usually 1 or more people on who can do any banning or kicking. But all and all lots of fun to chat with others wether ur in a guild or not. There are seperate channels as well and guild only channel where u need to know the PW for. Come on in and say hello. Its free.

I'm pretty sure if I started talking to people I don't know, the girlfriend would aggro.

She doesn't hit very hard, but she's unrootable, fears, dots, and snares. I can mez her, but it doesn't last long and requires very expensive consumables.

well, see the problem with any free-to-access server, regardless of if it has to do with a game or a voice chat server is that in order to get more people to join, you have to have the few dedicated people who are willing to camp and keep it populated in the first place.

You can bitch about there only being 3 people on, but as long as you don't stick around and make that 3, 4... you're just part of the problem.

Rather strange, but i entered the server the first time, info's right, but now it's not letting me on. server connection failure (as of 2 EST). Gonna try updating my mumble.

First off, I appreciate people doing nice things, and this is a nice thing, but I dislike voice chat - it ruins my immersion in game to hear so many male voices and see so many polygonal DE boobies.
