Well Rogean has served me with a gag-order. I truly enjoyed dispensing bits of EQ lore and wisdom, and the many /tells i received thanking me for improving the quality of /ooc, plus the fact that i know I put a smile on many faces is reward enough for me.

Most of the things I had to say are obviously not anything anyone doesn't already know, but sometimes it's nice to have your memory refreshed or actually learn something interesting of the little known lore of a lesser traveled zone. Quite a few people enjoyed what I had to say, and my intent never was to grief anyone, disrupt /ooc or to degrade the gameplay of this server in any way.

The haters are simply immature assholes who think the world revolves around them, and unless you look talk and act like them, you are made fun of.

Even though I know in my heart of hearts that Professor did nothing to deserve being silenced, and indeed did the opposite by bringing back some memories for some, educated others, and provoked some interesting discussions in /ooc about race/class combos for example, I accept the ruling of the Owners of the server because i have no choice.

Thank you for allowing the Professor to liven up chat for a couple days. it was fun while it lasted.

What Professor was doing was clearly inappropriate for /ooc...even though I enjoyed reading what he had to say. Blocks of text with random information, mostly plagiarized from other sources, filling up the /ooc windows of 450 people on the server at once is clearly not the stated appropriate use of /ooc.

What I dont understand is whats so hard about /ignore. It takes seconds, versus the minutes you guys spend pissing and moaning about something you have control over.

That said, yeah, the guy was basically spamming, and it was more often than just every 10 or 15 minutes, but getting the guy banned is weak.

Sadly I missed out on most of the lore. I just /ignore'd him the first time I saw all the text flying around my screen. That being said, I did not know it was lore and assumed it was childish profanity without reading it.

Yeah, but my post wasn't really flaming him. I was merely pointing out that those that were hating on him were nearly as guilty of spamming as he was.

No doubt some people liked him. Posting a handful of cherry picked screen shots hardly proves anything about the general consensus though.

I didn't care for it personally, but it was easy enough to /ignore. My point is only that even after ignoring Professor, I still had ooc's firing from dozens of other parties complaining about him. Far more annoying, IMO.

I was not a fan, but I didn't complain, either. I keep my text large so my old eyes can read it, so anything longer than a full sentence will make text fly by without me being able to read it. His posts didn't bother me, they just made my ooc/auction window unreadable at times. /ignore works just fine, no need to silence him.

Now, these guys like Bomb et al, that continually spam extremely profane and disgusting crap on ooc, and I suspect switch to different characters to get around many who have ignored them, are a different story. They need to be shot. In the face. With a Howitzer.

as i said lore belongs in posts on the forums, not clogging up my ooc window. If youre that dedicated to lore, do it in order, and post in one of the forums. I honestly welcomed the bomb, because what he was doing was just more spam in a different manner.
