I am trying to set up a macro for my Rogue. No matter what slot or ability I try to use,
/doability x does not work. I can turn attack on or off but nothing else. What gives?

What exactly are you trying to do? doability macros do work and I use them all the time
If its an Evade macro, you need to turn attack off first. Something like this
/attack off
/doability 1 (or whatever Hide is)
/doability 2 (can add more, disarm, pickpocket etc)
/attack on

That is exactly what I am trying to do, but Hide does not activate.

If I manually take off attack and hit Hide I get a message of success or fail to duck combat, but with the macro, nothing.

The feature definitely works so its a user error situation. Probably easiest to delete the macro and create a new one.
Most like issues are you have a random space somewhere it shouldn't be or you're referencing the wrong ability slot. Anything else I can think of would likely return an error in text that would be informative to the issue.

if you have high ping, you might need to add a pause. if you have 250ms ping, add a /pause 3
/pause 3, /attack off
/doability 2
/doability 3
/attack on

Are you setting your abilities and combat tabs (not hot button bar/window) buttons to have the appropriate skills?
