Enchanter Epic Questions

Hey all,

I returned to P99 a few weeks ago, and after TunnelQuesting for a bit and then gearing up an Enchanter: I have really fallen in love with the class.

My question is this:
Are there parts of the Enchanter Epic that can be MQd? I have always wanted a snake stick, since I was a kid... But from my memory of P99 a few years ago, the Vessel Droszlin (sp?) was a serious bottleneck because it's a very long window and highly contested. And now that I am in my 40s with a full-time job, a handful of kids and much more limited playtime: there's no way I can camp something like Vessel Droszlin.

So, given enough platinum and a willing seller: how much of the epic can be MQd? How much needs to be looted outright? If my memory serves correctly the Enchanter epic is one of the most involved epics that includes lots of steps. (Warrior, Mage, Druid epics seem to also require lots of steps)

I read a little more after I posted this, specifically about VD and I actually walk back my statement of always wanting a snake stick. Parts of the enchanter epic don't seem doable unless you've got a guild and lots of time on your hands. Of which I have neither.

You can buy loot rights to items and just have the guy message you in discord when he gets FTE. Just have to have enough time to log on for a few minutes to loot.

Not that familiar with the entire epic quest as I've never done the enchanter epic but I do know that Vessel Drozlin loot rights are commonly sold and I believe wraith of shissar I've also seen for sale occasionally. AFAIK those are the toughest pieces to get as a solo individual or atleast the only ones I recall ever seeing enchanters ask for help on.

As has been stated nothing can be MQ'd for the enchanter epic. But honestly I don't think you should give up. For Vessel Drozlin I believe there's a discord community you can join where you roll for the loot rights and the more times you have been there and not won the more rolls you get (don't quote me on that one, don't know the exact details). Verina Tomb sometimes sits up as her window was reduced which really helps.

For the PoFear (wraith of the shissir) and the PoHate (Essence of a Vampire) bits it's certainly easier if you are in a guild that sometimes venture into these zones. Especially the PoHate bit would be good - many, many guilds will do Hate and the corpse timers are short on the Forsaken Revenants so buying loot-rights from another guild might be tricky.

The rest is mostly doable either solo, duo or a single group

I’d give up if I were you, as I did in 2014. People prefer VoG anyway. You’d be better off focusing that time / effort into getting a zheart thats tradeable and way more impactful for the classes that can use it.

I definitely value VoG over SoS, but isn't SoS better for tanks? Or is that a misconception? To be honest: my primary motivation for achieving the enchanter epic would be a 25 year old dream of a 15 year old boy who thought that the snake stick was the coolest thing ever, back when I used to see the (very few) enchanters who had it on my Live server.

Also, I'm still only level 27, so there's a long time to go. I have just returned as of a few weeks ago, but my gut tells me to avoid raiding guilds this go around.

sos is better for tanks and pretty good while leveling if you get it early enough. it doesnt take long to get it on blue at least. like a week or 2 max.

Chanter epic is a nice stat stick compared to rod of insidious glamour and it also doubles as a GCD Clicky. As a mostly soloer the true value of mana free haste is mana free haste. Percentage is high and it costs you nothing to keep your pet hasted, making you faster and more efficient. Also less spell swapping. But yeah people will still bother you for VOG but outside of raiding most people will be happy with any haste. I like drive by hasting all melees I see but sometimes I just don't have time/mana to VOG entire groups, epic would be nice.

For green:

VD is a pain in the ass he's soloable but on a 2-7 days timer so fuck that if you have a life and if you don't you have to race LR farmers who insta engage with monks while you have to run around to drag a pet down the sewers. Pet has high MR come prepared. 85k LR last I checked.

Apparently a very skilled chanter can solo the hate part. Diddly will sell it to you for 15k last I checked

The fear part I don't think you can solo due to fear being fear.

VT you can't either, no good pet in zone. Quite contested but not VD level. A good trio can do it. Apparently 2 chanters who chain cast pets also.

Cazel is always up but you'll need 1-2 friends minimum to help due to his massive regen. Apparently you can duo with a wiz/necro. The spoon is not no drop but it is marked at like 500pp, never seen it for sale as no one bothers.

Tangrin is soloable with some prep as the pet is finicky but he's on a 2 days window so kinda hard to find up. Bring a friend or two if you can. Even when I knew the window I got beat to it by a group, pet is also high MR and runs faster than jboots, come prepared.

Chardok prince you can solo with some luck. Come prepared, long fight.

The rest is trivial IIRC. You'll need a tracker for felia and ghost of kindle is an easy solo with the right trick.

Oh yeah and you can't skip jeb's seal anymore so you'll have to kill Thrackin Griften. Not sure if he's soloable there's not a lot of solid pets in WK.

P.S. don't ruin your hole faction until you've finished the ghost part and the 4th piece turn in. It makes it a lot easier.

You’re not getting enc epic on blue that fast unless you’re available to play at all hours of the day. Vessell especially is a bottleneck regardless if you join sewer club or not you still have to be there.

Epic is cool if you want to save spell slots and some mana for solo artist pet hasting. It’s not easy by any means.

VD is literally the only item you have to camp tho, no one camps VT like that, hate is always open to kill trash, fear isnt locked down by 1 guild so not hard to get. even tss gets fear piece. you really have to have just given up not to have one , even i have one on an alt i rarely play.

Yea nobody is “camping” VD. You are full blown socking him in a huge random window. VT is a bit easier at least on blue because they reduced her spawn window. But there’s a lot of neckbeards/trolls around here so you gotta be careful who you are taking advice from. You pretty much need to be in a raiding guild and be able to log in at any moment to get the enc epic because it can’t be mqd. Some of the others are a lot easier since you can just farm pp to mq the epics in your own time.

no seriously on blue VT just is up a lot now, its just not camped like that idk if you notice cause sounds like you gave up. VD is onlything that remotely "difficult" but its not either.

The loot rights for vessel aren't that expensive if your good at enchanter farming. Farm one set of drums would cover it on green at least.
Only a couple other pieces are difficult but if you get vessel its pretty motovating

Then you train the tangrin on him and when hes 20% or so you dictate taer and kill. Very simple, fun if your not doing the rest of the epic.
Taer is crazy high mr,will resist alot of the monkey stuns. You can slow tangrin,not sure if its needed.

I tried training tangrin on taer but he stun me from max range pretty much, capped out at like 1% hp.

I tried rapture + boltran, buff and zone then rapture him, invis and start running to train him on tangrin and tangrin didn't aggro him and since Taer already hates you more he won't aggro him either so I was kinda stuck in a stalemate.

So I raptured him again, boltran'ed, sent him on tangrin then gated (I was bound in WW). When I ran back, the gate reset taer and being an aggressive city guard he aggroed tangrin. Dictated at 10% and let him finish it.

It is possible but I gave him -37MR gear + tash and he broke boltran's within seconds on two different attempts. Dude has mad MR, wouldn't be suprised if someone blew through an entire wand of allure and still die trying to get this done. It is not impossible but if there's a smarter/safer way to secure the kill why not.

The few times I've charmed Iksar guards I haven't noticed that they have particularly high MR, maybe I just got lucky.

I think I raptured Taer just to be sure, but then just tash, allure, hasted and torched like normal and charm held for the entire Tangrin fight. And it's not a quick fight, I had to reslow.

First time I toyed with him I didn't know he had natural SOW speed and he resisted all stuns/mez/charm and I ate it. He's level 50, level 50s don't resist like that. People on the wiki seemed to think he was immune to charm/mez so I don't think I got a bad streak. That's why people open with rapture, it is unresistible so no surprises.

I think they weren't as resistant at first so if you've done it a while ago it is possible it was before the change. There's a video of rektyu doing it 3 years ago and he mentions they're super resistant but he still manages to pull it off without a charm break so RNG gonna RNG. Before I gated I was doing fine and I had a wand of allure on me so I could have tried to do it the old fashioned way but I've had a very hard time finding him up so I didn't want to chance wiping and getting it stolen (had that happen before).

Yeah, I tried the just charm hin with allure method and burned a wand in 2 mins. They are extremely high mr,and the train/dictate method isnt bad at all once you've done it a time or 2
