Hi,

currently lvl55 DE SK. Looking to know what would be a weapon upgrade on Blacked allow bastard sword. Technically, I could go all the way to 60 with it, but was wondering if there was something better I could get.

I know about this sword vehement sword of Reivaj, not sure if this would be a much better upgrade and if it is worth the time to farm faction https://wiki.project1999.com/Vehement_Sword_of_Reivaj

Also looking to know if there is an upgrade on runed oak bow for bow kitting Blizzent.

That sword is the answer. The rune proc makes it even better than you think it is. It’s pretty much BiS for the SSF classes that can actually use/solo it.

First on the bow point, be aware that bow damage will be nerfed in some future patch. So it may not be worth getting a bow upgrade, depending on when you want to bow kite blizzent. You may want to try it sooner rather than later for the quest item just in case.

Sword of Reivaj has a better ratio, STR buff, and some damage reduction via rune. SSF doesn't have many options, so I'd say that is a worthy upgrade. Kael has a few decent quests, so getting faction isn't a complete waste:

That sword of Reivaj is good though and you should be able to get Blizzent with enough time and arrows. I'd make sure to max level my pet and torch it for the kite. Blizzent is also fearable.

Is the axe that the dwarf ghost drops in tower of frozen shadow worth it in the interim? Couple saves and ac + lil better ratio than existing bastard sword?

https://wiki.project1999.com/Mythril_Edged_Skull_Splitter should be soloable I think by a 55sk, if you want to deal with the RNG of the rare drops from skyshrine. Or if you can kill one of the mobs that drop it for proof of concept you may be able to find one for sale, if you're good with that version of SSF.

I was able to kill an icewell sentry, but the axe seems to have been nerfed. This is what dropped for me Velium Battle axe 8 28 effect velium shards

OP are you still playing? Did you ever get your vehement sword? I got one on my SSF lvl 54 DE SK the other day and it kicks ass. Leave the bow in the bank, blizzent's an easy aggro kite with clinging darkness and a 39-hitting pet.

Yes, I did. I was kiting blizzent at 50% then face tanked him by using health potions that was suggested earlier. I am able to face tanked more with the sword definitely go to sword for ssf sk.

Right on. Been meaning to ask you a couple questions too like 1. How did you kill the icewell sentry? I haven't tried yet but the wiki makes them sound nasty: snare immune, high MR, triple attack. Is any of that true? I know their drop list isn't. And 2. Where did you go for exp at 54? I got a couple places I do when I'm not item hunting but they're tedious AF.

The way I killed the icewell sentry was by spamming serpentine blood potion, don’t recommend xping them. At level 54, I was hunting two items JBoots from the Ancient and haste belt in lguk both camps were xp camps for me and I finished that level in city of mist outside of Arena.

Grik the Exile is always and option and can take you all the way to 60 if you're in for a slow grind.

I figured something like that. Sucks, I wanted to farm them for their armor at some point. Did you get an FBSS? I have a couple frenzied kills under my belt, fear kiting them over where the wan paths but of course they had ring both times. Slow going though, with the 28 min repops, 5%? spawn rate for frenzied, and how sometimes mobs will just path into the wall and under the world if you dont fear them in the exact right spot each time.

Yeah that's the spot, only place fear kiting seems to work more or less reliably. I'd start my cycle by moving in with ivu and waiting for the wan to path away before summoning a pet and parking him against the back wall where the ladder is. Then he'd path back and we'd kill him, or rather, I'd test my pet level on him and FD and reclaim a bunch til I got a max level one. That starts the timer where I pull the other 2 mobs in the way, then clear a PH or two before wan repops. I said above it's slow going though because with the 28 min repops down there, I usually don't have time for more than 1, maybe 2 PH repops before I gotta log. That's why I'm taking a break trying to finish lvl 54 right now, give it another shot next time I get bored with grinding exp.

Have you been to Droga yet? Before I came back for another crack at the FBSS I was in there getting an Idol of the Thorned and an Earring of Essence, plus killed another million goblins for the Di`zok signet of service while I was at it. Part of my larger kunark plan to get the chardok ring, ruin my faction killing berserkers for the OT hammer, try to snag a sarnak battle shield and stave of shielding on a quake or something while im not KOS, then ruin my OT faction after I got the hammer going after karnor's castle drops. All real long term shit but at least I got the ring out of the way.
