I've tried to edit something in the wiki, but it says I need to be a user to do that. So I click on Create a new user, and I get told I can't create a new user because I need to be an administrator to do that. How do you get permission to edit the wiki if you can't create a new user unless you're an admin?
You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason:
The action you have requested is limited to users in the group: Users.
Permissions errors
You do not have permission to create this user account, for the following reason:
The action you have requested is limited to users in the group: Administrators.
You don't currently.
account creation was turned off due to bots spamming the wiki
no eta for fix

I always recommend that people politely email Rogean. Without feedback, he has no way of knowing how many people are still impacted by this.

This usually means you’re running into a wiki that’s configured for admin-only account creation. In that setup, the workflow isn’t “create an account yourself → edit”; instead, it’s admin-mediated.

That's not how our wiki (normally) works.
User signups were disabled to stop a (non-P99) wiki spammer, maybe half a year ago, but that was meant to be a short-term fix until a proper fix (eg. adding a CAPTCHA to the signups) could be implemented.
Unfortunately Rogean doesn't seem to have had the time to fix it, Rahvin (the other wiki box admin) hasn't played in years, and evidently Rogean doesn't trust any community members (eg. me) enough to bring in outside help.
So, we all just have to wait for Rogean to have time (or enough trust to let someone like myself help).

Bump - are we still at a place where we can't make a wiki account? I'd love to get in there and add info and images and fix errors. I have a folder on my computer of little edits I'd like to contribute.

Bump for visual:
The map images on a lot of the Zone pages are not loading. I haven't been on the wiki for awhile, is this a new issue?

It looks to me like all images and styling are gone. This is (hopefully) good news in the long run, as it shows Rogean is working on the wiki ... but in the short-term it means relying on the wayback machine.

Wiki has been down, or extremely slow for weeks now. Anyone have insight on this or if it will be fixed?

From what I understand the software stack is ancient to the point where most of it is beyond EOL. Just about anything could have knocked it on its ass.
Also sounds like rogean doesn't really accept much outside help so probably has limited time to update all of this and the wiki is probably at the bottom of his queue.

All seems back in business.
I've also re-enabled new user signups.
