Where's a good place to read up, watch videos or otherwise learn about the lore of the factions in this game? I'm less interested in the gods and cosmologies, but I acknowledge some of that is a prerequisite to unraveling Norrathian politics.

I'd love a better understanding the various class guilds, merchant groups, internecine city factions and their defining characteristics. I realize a fair bit of these are probably half-baked, but I know some are quite fleshed out.

My first thought was to try to find a dump of all the NPC / quest text and try to feed it to an LLM to ask questions, but I know there's some loreheads out there that may have done the work already.

EDIT: Forgot that he has a lot of videos; they're all great, but for lore specifically you want the EverQuest Mysteries (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=everquest+mysteries) series.

Probably the best resource would be books that were printed and sold along with EQ back in late 90s/early 00s. Not sure if any of those have been digitized but I know people from time to time report success finding them at used book stores/yard sales/ect.

For those details specifically, maybe the old books if you can get your hands on them and, if not, Dolalin's search engine where there's classic discussion about their contents...such as one of the weapons on Vulak's loot table and how it got to be there.

This is good stuff. Thanks gang. I had seen some of those EQ mysteries vids back in the day, but didn't realize there were so many of them.

I think my next step is to find those guide books and then deep dive on Dolalin's search engine.
