Unable to connect on Desktop

This morning my desktop has been unable to connect to the EQ Login server (connection could not be reached). Other computers on the network are able to reach, and the desktop is able to reach other P99 resources (writing this from the desktop, wiki works, etc). No 3rd party software in the mix, EQ host set to Host=login.eqemulator.net:5998. Did a DNS flush, Ip Release/renew.

Any suggestions to look into next?

Update-
for some reason login.eqemulator.net is resolving to 160.72.227.52 on my PC (which is not working) but resolving to 70.35.159.39 on my laptop which is working.
I found that that the System host file had 160.72.227.52 login.eqemulator.net as an entry. not sure when/how/why that was there...

closing my own ticket to myself now...
