Hello,

Please let me know if the p99 forums isn't the place to mention this, but I mentioned that the page for Sebilis is down since at least a couple of days. I tried Velketor's Labyrinth just now and it also seems down.

Does anyone know the cause?

It could either have been caused by Rogean doing administrative work, or by the recent CloudFlare outage that affected a large chunk of the Internet.

Either way, https://wiki.project1999.com/Sebilis and https://wiki.project1999.com/Velketor%27s_Labyrinth both work for me now.

I just realized it's when I click the link to the zone, for example from a mob in Sebilis. The link tries to take me to /Old_Sebilis. I changed the link to only "Sebilis" and it seems to work, but is there a way to make a link that leads to Sebilis but that shows "Old Sebilis" as text?

Edit: Did the edit on the Frenzied Pox Scarab, then realized other mobs had "Old Sebilis" as zone and it worked just fine. Went to change back to "Old Sebilis" for the Frenzied Pox Scarab and now it works just fine. Weird.

Maybe your browser had a bad page cached? Either way, glad you got it fixed :)

What does "bad page cached" mean exactly and how can I fix it? I still see it happen from time to time.

Just refresh the page. It means that something Rogean setup to make the wiki faster wasn't working right at that moment, but it should be temporary (and hopefully he'll figure out the cause and fix it someday).

Either your browser navigated to a page that was down at one time and then at the next attempt to visit loaded the 'down' page from the browser cache, which can be fixed by refreshing the page, or else what can also happen is that the backend services upon which the wiki depends are experiencing a difficulty. Refreshing the page won't help in that case because it is taking place not on your machine. That's my best distillation and someone can add to or correct it if I'm mistaken!

I mean, the wiki is being DDOS'd or something, period. It's been operating like shit for well over a week now, almost every other page dies or can't be reached, requiring either like 5-10 minutes of waiting for a page to load or refreshing regularly to try to get it back up.

Whatever is going on, the wiki is absolute dog shit right now. Barely usable.

This, been slow since xmas event started and pages won't load half the time. Wondered if it was just getting hammered by people logging in for xmas event or if something else was going on in the background.

I have the same experience as kich867 occasionally but not nearly as much now as since Secrets launched PQ. The connectivity/cloudflare issue is intermittent but the bot account issue on the wiki sure does suck. I don't have anything to do with the wiki administration but trust those that do to ask for help if they need ideas or resources.

Haven't had any notable issues here that I recall during same time :/
