I've recently taken a liking to a lot of EQ's music, and I've been listening to the soundtrack from various websites and youtube and in-game. And I've noticed that some songs have several different versions. Some sound higher quality than others.

A good example is Kelethin:

or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKtPUcmu9kI
or
http://www.mmotomb.com/music/everquest-music/ (scroll down a bit to find it)

Granted, the third one just sounds like it has a lot of reverb, but what I'm getting at here is why are there so many different versions? Is there a way to change versions?

And on a related note, is there a way to add music to zones that don't have any? Although I'm sure we all agree that modern EQ has hit the bottom of the barrel, they did add some pretty good music along the way (Steamfont).

Not sure if this helps, but there is an earlier thread discussing how to restore the older better sounding midi versions of the game music.

If you had an AWE32 sound card back in 1999 you probably had the best sounding EQ music at the time.
