Unable to create a new Magelo account

I am having issues creating a new blue Magelo account. It tells me I must log in. But when I try my P99 forum account name and password it tells me I do not have permission.

Quick story time: The wiki had a spam problem. Some asshole created (literally) over a thousand pages about penis pills and all sorts of other nonsense, and it started to become a real issue.

Normally, the solution to this would be to implement a "CAPTCHA", so that the spammer can't (easily) write code to create new wiki accounts ... but our wiki has a highly-customized older version of the wiki software, and that version doesn't work with the CAPTCHA extension.

As a temporary solution, wiki god Rahvin disabled all new signups, and with the spammer unable to sign up, I was able to ban all (or at least most) of his accounts, and remove the vast majority of the spam pages from the wiki (if you run across any, let me know!)

Storytime's over, and we now have a wiki with signups disabled, and we don't want to enable them until we have a CAPTCHA ... but to make that a reality someone needs to write custom CAPTCHA code. I offered to do as much to Rogean, but he didn't reply ... so hopefully Rahvin is exploring a solution.

TLDR; No one really knows whether Rogean/Rahvin plan to restore wiki signups, so all anyone can do is PM Rogean (politely) and ask him to let people signup for the wiki again.

(And again, Rogean if you are reading this: I detest PHP, but I'll suffer through it and all the Mediawiki nonsense to create a custom CAPTCHA, if Rahvin doesn't want to.)
