Also known as Escapegoat, Pharmakos, or simply Charlie has passed away last Wednesday due to his cancer coming back. He's been cremated and will be buried in Bad Axe, Michigan.

Charlie was hands down one of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. Despite living only 30 minutes from each other, we met on P99 back in 2014 in Blackburrow. What followed is over a decade of good friendship. I know Charlie touched the lives of other people in this community and I hope his memory lives on in every one of us. I wish I had or could say more but there's not much to say about something so tragic. The world is worse off without him in it. Please keep him in your thoughts, he deserves to be remembered.

I remember Pharmakos. Cool cat. Sorry to hear they are lost to us. May they rest in peace and contentment.

I didn't know him but always sorry to hear this. Bad Axe is an amazing name of a place to be laid to rest though.

I was gonna say that is an amazing name for an eq character, let alone a town!

I knew him during my days in <Europa> on blue, a gem of a player that had that 1999 vibe...always willing to help and loved a good joke :D

RIP Sir, you were one of the examples of how to enjoy EQ fully.

Given that one of his favorite threads was reposting names in the AON/COF giveaway thread for the fun of it, here's the gif I put in there a lot (I know he liked it :D )

Charlie was the embodiment of "Classic as fuck", the guy had a proc dagger on his warrior for any given situation, and if you wanted him on voice chat well too bad, that's not classic.

If anybody can reach some of the old Azure Guard people like Nemce and Dulla. It's been almost a decade since I've thought of these names, I could really be butchering it but they would probably know how to reach most of the people who played a lot of P99 with him. I don't really pop in here much anymore unfortunately.

Escapegoat was a good friend. What a fantastic person to have spent years playing with and what a terrible loss to us all. I have played online with him for over a decade and messaged back and forth throughout all his treatments. When he was finally able to play again, he messaged me and my mother, Dula. He was so excited to tell us that he was getting his strength back and will soon be ready to jump back online.

It was a privilege to serve him as a guild leader on two servers.

Escapegoat, will definitely be missed. He would pop in whenever he was going through a good streak with his cancer. It was always nice to see him. He did well as a recruiting officer on takp. He really did enjoy it and was always a pleasure to see him. I will pray for his family and their loss. He will surely be missed.

We gave him a place in the plane of tranquility with the other TAKP/AK players that have passed on. Sorry for your loss.

Sitting here balling my eyes out, what a beautiful gesture.

Obituary can be found here, posting with permission from his father.

That's a very nice tribute for a community member.

I'm reminded of when the original Al'Kabor server went down. I sat on the landing of Kurn's Tower with a father-son duo and watched its last sunset.

Sorry for your loss, and for norraths.

Live 30 mins from someone and only meet because of EQ is pretty cool too.
Sorry for those that knew him. He seemed like a guy I'd have liked too.

Rygrim, the best and nicest player on red99 died about 5 years ago. I still miss him.

RIP. I can’t remember playing with him, but I’m sure our paths crossed at one point in game. It’s a reminder to me that life is short, and a little kindness can go a long way.

Very sad. It's a good reminder that life consists of much more than manastones and videogames, and we only get this short life before the eternity.
