Returning to game, hourglass after selecting server

As the title says, when I click a server I just get the Windows hourglass and nothing ever happens. The window title bar says "Not Responding". I haven't played in a year or so and did install the latest v61 patch.

Anyone know what could be wrong here? I'd like to play this game again, but currently dead in the water.

Maybe uninstall the game completely, delete the entire folder afterwards, and redownload the Platinum Edition, install it, and redownload the latest patch and install it. It works for me on Windows 11.

Maybe make an exclusion in Windows Defender for the EverQuest folder or make sure if you have McAfee that you uninstall that trash lol.
