I am a player who has been on the p1999 server for several years. I find that the rules of classic eq may be too cruel for most people. People often have to be nervous to compete for the boss, and for those small guilds, there is almost no chance to participate in the competition. There are already two servers of classic eq. I think maybe we can add a server with different rules so that most players can have the opportunity to challenge the boss every week without fighting for ownership. I hope you can consider this suggestion.:D

Quarm exists. It is better than p99 in every single way, and is what P99 should haven been.

It is exactly what you are asking for.

P99 right now is the only competitive everquest, but it has deeply anti competition staff and CSR who despise, did not play, and never will play competitive EQ.

This sounds like the guy that wanted to cut the Sewer club line.

Many people play for years, never getting even 1 epic.
With EQ you exchange your life for pixels. Dont wreck it for those that get to say "Sorry you dont got", for many its all they have.

Also, many babysitting servers allow instances so babies can get BIS with 3 buddies.

This server is classic. Classic sucks. Its hard, uncompromising and makes you wanna cry.

Be happy one emu respects it.

Planes of Power server is not at all what P99 should have been.

Nobody who likes shitty ass Plane of Knowledge and it's dumb ass books sitting around the (dead) world of Norrath cares about actual Everquest.

You've never played competitive EQ either. The only way such a thing has existed so far is PvP. A truly competitive PvE game would require the mechanics being massively changed in order to make the content more dynamic, limit guild sizes, and require higher level play to do the best raids and group content.

I heard that the quarm server was shut down, maybe it's time to start a new one?

Yeah RIP all non P99/live servers. Although Quarm's shutdown was self imposed, given the recent lawsuit from Daybreak against the folks behind the THJ project.

As Quarm's founder, Secrets, was just saying the other day (in this very forum):

its quite LITERALLY never been easier to run your own box.
There aren't any black box components in Quarm anymore. We're fully open source, as is Zeal.

If you want a new server ... make it.
