New patch breaks the game; the cause is dsetup.dll

The game is not playable-- you can't move, and most of the buttons don't work. It's not "laggy", but actually frozen. (Oddly enough, you can look up and down perfectly smoothly, you just can't do anything else.) Some of the character's .ini file also don't load, for example all custom buttons on the hotbar are gone.

It started with the patch in the fall (v59), and continued in v60, and now v61.

The only fix is to copy dsetup.dll from a pre-59 patch. I have been doing that since v59. But I am dreading the day that the devs do something that stops this fix from working. If/when that happens, I won't be able to play P99 anymore.

These threads always get cluttered with lots of unrelated reports. This report is not about lag or errors. The game is frozen, completely unplayable. It started in patch 59, and whatever the problem is, it is 100% in dsetup.dll.

This is the dsetup from V58. We have allowed this file to continue working on the server for now due to these issues. At some point we will have a DLL Update that will supersede the previous files, which will no longer work, but I will get this issue resolved before we do that.

Not sure if it's related, but I figured I'd post here. After the latest patch, I've been having issues with - what I assume is - a memory leak.

After playing the game for a few hours and exiting, sometime afterward windows explorer will lock up along with the whole pc and I have to restart. There is no issue whatsoever if I don't play p99. This also didn't start happening until after the most recent update.

I am running wineq2 and eqtool. (I've tried dgvoodoo2, but for some reason my framerate is capped at 32fps always when using that.)

I apologize. This is my first post so I do not know where to put it so It can be addressed.

I am on the latest patch (V61), but I got disconnected back on the 20th. When I got reconnected, I found that none of my characters show up on the character screen (I see any weapon or shield they have but no body, armor, face, etc. If I choose one of my characters and enter Server(either green or blue) I cannot see myself, other player characters, or NPCs. Just the names above them and any weapon they are holding.
I have uninstalled EQ three times using IOBIT uninstall PRO and reinstalled it along with the v61 patch to no effect.
Is there something I need to manually remove from the registry in order to fix this? I ask because my user name WVFSFFMWF appears even after I uninstall and reinstall.

Any help would be appreciated. I recently retired and had looked forward to playing long uninterrupted sessions.

It shows that I am a decaying skeleton. I got disconnected on the 20th in the middle of fighting a GREEN in misty thicket (embarassing) and now with this glitch my corpse (inphorsir 11th Barb Shaman) will decay with (believe it or not) my best equipment. He is not a twink.
